Kuya J: NEW Duo Halo-Halo Espesyal

Celebrating my first time at Kuya J with some delicious dishes and their new Duo Halo-Halo Espesyal!

This summer, Kuya J, the fastest growing chain of Filipino casual dining restaurants in the country and home of the uniquely reinvented Halo-halo Espesyal, takes its game up a notch with an iconic duo that will further redefine the classic Pinoy favorite dessert – the new Duo Halo-halo Espesyal!
Since it was my first time at Kuya J, I wasn't really sure what to expect (aside from the fact that they have halo-halo on the menu hehe). So when I asked friends for their favorites, I made sure to try them out on my visit.

The most recommended? Grilled Scallops, Sizzling Sisig with Egg, and Kuya J Crispy Pata!

I also really enjoyed their Beef Tadyang Sinigang. In fact, it was my favorite dish out of the four.

They serve the soup on a separate pot, I guess to keep it from getting cold? Super love the flavor! I bet my sister would like it too :) We both like our sinigang extra asim. The beef tadyang was really tender as well.

Of course, I couldn't miss trying Kuya J's new Duo Halo-Halo Espesyal! It's a combination of their classic Halo-Halo and crowd favorite Ube Halo-Halo Espesyal. Apparently, people had a difficult time choosing between the two, so for 2019, Kuya J thought, "why not combine both!?"
It features a mesmerizing combo of Kuya J’s silky-smooth ice made from milk and rich, thick purple ice made from tasty ube. The ice is shaved smoothly to complement the perfect mix of other ingredients including macapuno, nata de coco, caramelized saba, ube jam and langka. A sweet slice of leche flan, a sprinkle of crunchy cornflakes and a drizzle of ube cream complete Kuya J’s delightful summer dessert. I don't think I've ever had a halo-halo this smooth and creamy! Definitely one of a kind!

I also discovered they have a Saba Halo-Halo, so I'm coming back for that (and that Beef Tadyang Sinigang, of course!) Huuu, I'm sorry for not visiting you sooner, Kuya J!
Kuya J has come a long way from being a humble eatery in Cebu called “Kanan-an ni Kuya”, to now having 108 restaurants nationwide. It continues to satisfy every Filipino’s appetite with its best-tasting Filipino dishes.

Make your summer more exciting with the new Kuya J Duo Halo-halo Espesyal. For more information on Kuya J’s new offerings, visit http://www.kuyaj.ph.
