A one stop shop of a different kind!
Check out my newest discovery - Dapitan 55! Who would've thought that it was possible for you to get your car washed, eat, AND have a massage all in one place? Dapitan 55 is a one-stop lifestyle complex that houses a car wash, cafe, spa, coffee shop, and more! It's crazy how I'm only discovering this place now when I'm in the area quite often!
To be honest, I seldom get my car washed. I just don't like hanging out at the car wash, waiting and having nothing to do. Plus, there are ones that don't seem very safe, like anyone can just go in and approach you or steal from you or whatever. So yeah, getting my car washed isn't something that I normally do. I'd rather let the rain clean it for me whenever it feels like it. Haha!
So anyway, when I heard about this lifestyle complex, I just had to see it for myself! I visited them on a Saturday afternoon; when I arrived, Mr. Buff Car Wash was empty, so I immediately parked and told the staff what service I wanted done (wash + wax). It didn't take very long until Mr. Buff was packed with cars waiting to be cleaned for the weekend.
I then walked to Garage Cafe located just a few steps away from where I left my car.

Garage Cafe was not at all what I expected. I thought it was just going to be one of those waiting places that offers simple silog-type meals and 3-in-1 coffee, but turns out, it's a legit Chinese restaurant! Good thing I had my friends meet me there, so together, we were able to sample a couple of their menu items.
What we had: Black Gulaman, 8 Treasure Soup, Assorted Cold Appetizer (white chicken, squid, century egg, jelly fish, Asado), Salt and Chili Spareribs, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Beef Fried Rice w/ Lettuce, Salted Fish Fried Rice, Whole Roast Chicken, Sweet and Sour Beef, Fish Fillet with Tausi.
As you can see, the dishes they served look delectable, but let me tell you this - they don't only look good, they taste pretty great too! I especially enjoyed the 8 Treasure Soup and Fish Fillet with Tausi!
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit at Garage Cafe. The food's even better than other, more expensive Chinese restaurants in the area. Even though they're located in a complex, they made sure to offer quality dishes that are worth every peso, and I like that about them. Don't forget to wash it all off with some refreshing Black Gulaman!
After our meal, Iza and I had massages at Baan Khun Thai. I got the foot and back massage which are pretty much my problem areas. The staff was very accommodating and paid attention whenever I needed the pressure to be adjusted. I also liked their foot massage area because of the reclining chairs as well as the curtains so you have privacy. I would've stayed longer (probably would have gotten a two-hour massage) if my friends weren't waiting to have some dessert!
Dapitan 55 is definitely a place I would visit again. I actually told my boyfriend Tim about my new discovery, and as it turns out, he regularly goes there to get his car washed pala! Tim's really OC when it comes to his car, so I guess that shows how great the service at Mr. Buff really is. He hasn't eaten at Garage Cafe nor had a massage at Baan Khun Thai yet though, so I'll probably accompany him one of these days - will let you know how it goes! For now, visit Dapitan 55 at #55 Dapitan Corner D. Tuazon Street, Banawe, Quezon City.
