Celebrated my first ever mother's day by baking a cake with the hubs!
Last weekend, Holiday Inn & Suites Makati sent over their DIY Cake Kit in celebration of Mother's Day. I initially intended to do it with my mom, but due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the country, I thought it'd be better to stay at home and do it with my husband Tim instead.
The Mother's Day DIY Cake Kit includes: Cake Flour Mix, Buttercream Icing, Candy Sprinkles, an 8-in Cake Pan, 3-pc Spatula Set, 2 Aprons and a QR link to the baking instructional video. It also includes some goodies from Nissin Pasta Express and Jack 'n Jill Nips.
To be honest, I found the kit intimidating at first, especially since I haven't baked in a while and I didn't have the proper tools (e.g. a mixer) for it. But once we started, it was actually really fun and easy to do!
Even Tim enjoyed creating his own frosting. I guess we both didn't think we could do it, so I'm really happy it turned out great! This whole experience made me want to start baking again. I even started looking up affordable mixers for when I feel like experimenting in the kitchen again!
