Ceviche: A Peruvian Gastropub

Another reason to visit QC! :)

Ever since I found out about Ceviche, I've been wanting to go. Why? Because I love the citrusy dish! And since this restaurant is named after it, they must make a mean one. Right? I'm so glad Fran of franywanny.com invited us for lunch as it gave me the chance to finally try them out.

Ceviche de Pescado (P240 / P420)
Here's one of their takes on ceviche - mahi-mahi fillet in citrus juice and yellow chili sauce. I really enjoy sour dishes so this one is a big thumbs up for me. I also appreciated the fact that they added potatoes, onions, and corn to the dish to give it some texture.

Choros a la Chalaca (P380)
I didn't expect much from the Choros a la Chalaca mainly because I'm not a huge fan of mussels (yes, there are mussels hiding underneath all that corn and tomato), but it was SO GOOD! The flavors really came together so I highly recommend getting this.

Chorizo al Plato (P220 / P380)

Not sure if it was chorizo or sausages, but either way, we finished every bit of meat on this plate. There's really no need to add the garlic aioli (as the chorizo is already tasty on its own) but the sauce gives something different to the dish, so it's still worth dipping into.

Crispy Pata (P690)

Before Ceviche became Ceviche, it used to be Habit Gastropub. They retained some of the gastropub favorites like the crispy pata, sisig, beef salpicao, tokwa at baboy, and spicy buffalo wings.

Tallarin con Mejillones (P440)

This pasta dish is all about New Zealand mussels simmered in white wine, tossed with herbs, olive oil, and cheese. This is actually their bestselling pasta dish, but if you'd rather have meat in yours, they also have pasta with beef tenderloin, chicken strips, or sausages in the menu.

Pollo a la Brasa (P180-P790)

A great dish to share is the Pollo a la Brasa or Peruvian Roasted Chicken. It's served with Ceviche's signature sauces - chimichurri, aji green sauce, and spicy orange mayo. So whether you prefer light, creamy, spicy, or tangy, they've got you covered. You can choose from 1/4, 1/2, or whole chicken with one, two, or four sides.

Lomo Saltado (P265 / P480)
My number one favorite. Beef tenderloin strips with onions, tomatoes, fried potatoes, and a LOT of sauce. This one goes really well with rice, so if you're on a diet, you might want to skip this. Haha. I like dishes with vinegar in it, even if it's just a hint, so may konting asim. I swear, if I weren't on a diet, I would drown my rice with this sauce.

Arroz con Mariscos (P250 / P480)

Filipinos are such rice lovers, so this one's definitely a must order. Normally, I'd go for plain rice but really, who goes for plain rice when you have this beauty in the menu? Make sure to squeeze that lemon for extra flavor.

For dessert: Cheesecake Supreme, Tres Leches, Supreme Chocolate Cake in a Can, Pie Di Limon

My number one #Bett? The chocolate cake. If I remember correctly, they use dark chocolate so it's not as sinful and sweet. I love the crunch on top and the gooey center. Not bad for Php 500. ;)
Will I go back? Yes! I actually went back a few weeks after with Tim and his cousin for some drinks and saw that they have an unlimited promo. Best to check their Facebook page for details!
