Wing Zone, SM Megamall

Huge fan of wings? Here’s one place you won’t regret visiting.

Hey guys! I recently got to visit Wing Zone at SM Megamall. If I’m not mistaken, the US-based wings joint opened its doors in Manila late last year, but I’ve never had the chance to try them until this month. To be honest, I used to hate eating chicken (or at least I’d avoid it when possible) since my dad would always tease me about not getting all the meat off the bone (long story haha). But after discovering and loving places like Gringo and Kenny Rogers - both of which specialize in chicken - I’ve started enjoying eating wings as well.

What’s so great about Wing Zone is that it doesn’t limit its offerings to just chicken wings - they also have drumsticks, boneless bites and strips on the menu, so it really depends on your preference (I guess part of the fun is using your hands). They currently have 17 flavors available, including two new Filipino favorites - Spicy Sisig and Savory Adobo.

We started off with some of their tasty sides - Crinkle Cut Wedge Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, Housemade Kettle Chips, and Jalapeño Poppers, and Onion Rings. If you’re looking to try just one, I’d highly recommend the Kettle Chips (comes in two dry rub flavors - Blackened Voodoo and Cool Ranch). We liked this so so much that we suggested they sell this in take-out packs similar to Ramen Nagi’s Nagi Chips. Hehe :P

For the mains, we ordered an assortment of wings, drumstick, strips, and boneless bites in different flavors. I like how their menu separated the flavors into categories so you can easily pick the ones you want. Go for Sweet with No Heat (Honey Q, Liquid Gold and Sweet Samurai), Sweet and Spicy (Thai Chili, Smokin’ Q, Mango Fire, and Tokyo Dragon), Savory (Garlic Parm and Lemon Zinger), Dry Rub (Blackened Voodoo and Cool Ranch), Traditional Buffalo (Tame, Buffalo Bliss, Hotshot, and Nuclear Habañero) or their newest Filipino (Savory Adobo and Spicy Sisig) flavors.

If you don’t want to deal with bones, go for the strips or bites, but basically you can mix and match the sauces with any type or part of the chicken. My top three ? Liquid Gold (honey mustard), Sweet Samurai (soy, honey, ginger, and teriyaki), and Tame (mild blend of buttery buffalo spices).

If you're looking for something quick to eat, they also have salads, burgers, and chicken sandwiches on the menu.

I enjoyed the whole experience so much that I invited my mom and her friends to eat there just a week after my first visit. I’m so glad they loved it as much as I did! We got a large Kettle Chips and four orders of chicken with two flavors each then upgraded our meal to unlimited rice and drinks for an additional Php 79 each.

P.S. Don't leave without having dessert!
P.P.S. They're opening branches in Cubao and SM MOA soon so watch out for that!

Wing Zone is located at Second Floor, Mega Atrium, SM Megamall, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City.
