Happy Anniversary, Stockwell Cafe!

Check out some Stockwell favorites + soon to open: Podium branch! ;)

Last December 12, Stockwell Cafe + Lounge celebrated their first anniversary where they treated us to some old favorites and surprised us with the new ones they'll be releasing at their new Podium branch this January!

And like true foodies, we started our meal with dessert! We got a taste of their cheeescake selections - Ube, Salted Caramel, Blueberry, and Hazelnut. But my favorite was the Chocolate Ganache.

It was so rich and moist - would you believe I went back a few days later for another slice? I'm glad that they are consistent with regards to the quality of their food. I remember writing about my first visit (I've returned a couple of times since) and the Chocolate Ganache is still as good as I remember.

Though I must admit, this is the first time I'm actually trying the food at Stockwell. My visits have mostly been for coffee and cakes, so the old favorites are pretty much still new to me. We ordered the following: Truffle Mushroom Linguine, Bulgogi Rice, Pan Seared Salmon in Lemon Butter Sauce, Rib-Eye Steak, and Roast Pork in Peppercorn Sauce.

And of course, in true foodie fashion, we all shared our dishes. Everything was really good, down to the garlic rice. But if I were to pick two favorites, I would have to go for the pasta and the bulgogi rice. The Truffle Mushroom Linguine has a very appetizing aroma to it, you'll want to eat it as soon as it reaches your table (I'm so glad it didn't disappoint - I swear, it tastes as good as it smells). The Bulgogi Rice had a hint of spice that will make you want to eat more. It kind of reminds me of Mongolian fried rice, so if you're into that, you'll definitely like this, too.

Stockwell is also known for their huge drink selection. On their wall, it says that it's "where specialty coffee, wine, and great ambiance meet" and I'd have to agree. It's totally the kind of place I would go to if I want to get some work done or just have a chill night out.
As I mentioned earlier, they are opening a new branch at Podium this January. We got first dibs on their new dishes - here's what to expect:

For the drinks: Red Velvet Smoothie, Taro Smoothie, Ice Blended Mocha, Choco Java Chip, Ice Blended Caramel Macchiato, Ice Blended Oreo Smoothie

I love how they came out with a number of different flavored ones, so there's really something for everyone. P.S. They also have an Ice Blended Matcha Latte, which I forgot to take a photo of. Personal favorites: Taro, Caramel Macchiato, and Oreo Smoothie!

Finally, onto the new dishes:

Unfortunately, I didn't get to taste most of these as I had to rush off to BGC, but I'll definitely see you guys in a few weeks once your Podium branch opens! Huge congratulations to Sherwin, Shandie, and the rest of the Stockwell team!
