Sobremesa: the time after lunch or dinner spent talking to the people you shared the meal with
Welcome to Sobremesa, a fusion-cuisine concept restaurant located at Sapphire Bloc, Ortigas district.
Sobremesa offers a gastronomic fusion of South American and Filipino inspired dishes created by Head Chef, Chef Benjo Tuason. In Spanish, sobremesa refers to the time spent talking to the people you shared the meal with, and here at Sobremesa, the goal is to enjoy delicious conversations with its wide range of offerings.
First thing on my list was their Shrimp Ceviche Salad (Php 250).
I love, love ceviche! It was my first time to have it in salad form, and I really enjoyed it too.
The Queso Fundido (P320) was a crowd favorite. Everyone loves cheese, so this version, which has three different kinds of cheeses was a sure hit. Try not to take too many photos of it though, as it's best eaten while hot and gooey!
The Cuban Pork Chop (P420), which is served with garlic mashed potatoes and caramelized onions is the Sobremesa's latest offering. A must try for meat lovers!
If you like your meats with rice and lots of sauce, go for the Bulalo Estofado (P490). It reminds me of Korean beef stew.
You can also fancy up your evening with their Selection of Cured Meats (P495)! It includes chorizo pamplona, salchicon, vela de lomo, and chorizo de bilbao.
But my favorite? Their Peruvian Roasted Chicken (P380 half / P700 whole). It's served with pico de gallo and sour cream - two thumbs up for both!
The star of the day was definitely Sobremesa's Australian Rib Eye Steak! A normal order costs Php 600 - that's 400-500grams of meaty goodness, which you can have three ways: coffee-crusted, herbed, or salt and pepper rub. But you can also get the UNLIMITED version for only Php 750! Crazy, right?I highly advise you to come early, because it's only available until supplies last!
Tender and mouth-watering UNLIMITED steak for only P750! Who can say no to that??
Don't forget to leave room for dessert!
Mango Cheesecake (P230)
Lecheroon (P200)
Between the two, I recommend the Lecheroon. It's a combination of two things I really like - leche flan and macaroons. So if you like those two as well, this is worth trying. :)
