Little Owl, New Manila

A quiet little nook along one of the busiest streets in New Manila

Little Owl
Weeks ago, I was invited by Little Owl to sample their best-selling dishes. The event was set at 11am, so I went to work at 6:30am just to arrive at the Broadway Avenue restaurant as scheduled. I saw some of my foodie friends there; we said our hellos, talked a bit, took photos, etc. Soon, it was 1pm, and yes, we were still waiting at this point. I asked the organizers a couple of times on what time we would be starting (since a lot of people have been there since 11am) and each time, they answered me that the chef was already on his way. It was really disappointing since the event was scheduled a month early, yet they still weren't able to start on time. They didn't even bother to give us water (until I asked) or anything to munch on.

If the chef was going to be late, I wish they informed people. Come to think of it, they could've started without him, his spiel could have been moved to the middle of the meal, since he pretty much just talked about the concept and how they came up with the name Little Owl. I just wish they had been more considerate of the people, especially those who have been there for two hours already. It's unfortunate because it tainted the way I saw the restaurant and the food. It basically ruined the entire experience for me.

Some people may think that I don't have any right to complain since I'd be eating for free, but to tell you the truth, I'm not after free food. Sure, I get to eat for free, but then I'll have to take pictures, edit them, and write an entire article on what I ate. It's not an easy thing to do, I mean, how many ways can you say masarap?? For me, it's more of being able to meet new people and help establishments get the word out. I just think it's really rude when people do not respect other people's time.

ANYWAY, I have blabbed enough. Let me just go through what they served that afternoon so you have an idea on what type of food they serve here. Some were great, but some were just okay too. I'm not out to ruin Little Owl, okay? They deserve a fair chance, and yes, I do believe they are still worth a visit. I just hope no one else has to wait that long for their food. :)
