Not your ordinary third wave coffee shop!
Stockwell Cafe + Lounge is all kinds of special, because it's the perfect hangout place for people who can't seem to come to a decision on whether to have coffee or wine after dinner.
Here, they offer both so you don't have to force yourself to pick one over the other. Aside from that, they have a food menu that consists of appetizers, pasta, and sandwiches - recipes that Sherwin, one of the owners, himself developed.
Since we had just come from dinner, we decided to sample their appetizers instead.

For the drinks, they offer a bunch of hot and cold options like espresso, cappuccino, mocha, and macchiato. What stood out for me was their Stockwell 50/50 which contains milk foam, steamed milk, and a "secret ingredient."
Those two words will make you want to order it just to try and guess what that secret ingredient is. Haha. We were all definitely curious, but I don't know, it didn't taste that much different to me.
I also took a sip of their hot Cafe Mocha and it was glorious!! I don't normally order mocha drinks, but the mix of chocolate and coffee was just perfect. I don't know what kind of chocolate they use here, but I'm definitely ordering it next time.
The Cold Brew was also a hit that evening. I prefer mine with a bit of syrup (which you could always request), but I'm sure a lot of people enjoy theirs as is too.
Stockwell makes use of six different beans in their drinks - Matutum, Kapatagan, and Benguet (local beans), and Brazil, Columbia, and Guatemala (imported).
The beans are generally the same for every coffee shop; what usually differs is how they brew the them. For Stockwell, they also have a supplier who lets them customize the beans based on their specifications, so it has that special Stockwell touch.
They also utilize alternative brewing methods like Cold Drip, V60, and Aeropress for producing high quality artisanal coffee.
For the cakes, we tried their takes on Chocolate Ganache and Red Velvet.
Between the two, my favorite is the Chocolate Ganache because of its smooth texture; it's perfectly moist with just the right amount of sweetness.
The Red Velvet photographs really well though, so if you're looking for something instagrammable, I suggest going for that.
They also do latte art! Just check out this one they made of The Food Crawlers' logo!
Too cool, Stockwell. Too cool.
Thank you for being the perfect solution to our all after dinner problems, Stockwell!
Will come by for lunch or dinner to try out the other dishes soon ;)
Stockwell Cafe + Lounge is located at 61 Scout Tobias corner Scout Rallos Street, Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
