The Burger Joint, Pasig

Say hello to The Great American Burger Joint! ;)

It's always fun to hang out with fellow foodies. You laugh together, take photos together, and eat together. No one's going to judge you if you take too long finding that perfect angle because they're probably doing the same thing too!

Recently, I joined The Food Crawlers for yet another foodie event, this time, we visited The Burger Joint located at SM Center Pasig. But before trying their burgers, we sampled a couple of their non-burger offerings first.

We started off with the Loaded Nachos. Don't be fooled by its appearance. This is not your ordinary nachos.

It has watermelon instead of tomatoes which gives it a surprising twist. Aside from that, the corn tortilla chips are also topped with chili con carne, cilantro, chilli fingers, lime vinaigrette, sour cream and cheese. It's not like anything I've tried before and I'd totally go back for this alone!

Monster Fries
smashed and crumbed quarter pound burger patty, caramelized onions, signature TBJ sauce, cheese

Chili Cheese Fries
loaded with chili con carne, bacon bits, nacho cheese, sour cream, jalapenos

Both baskets of fries have unique qualities, but if I were to pick my favorite, I'll have to go with the Monster Fries. As much as I enjoyed the chili con carne in the Chili Cheese Fries, there was just too much cheese in it (as you can see in the photo). If you really, really, really love cheese though, you'll probably really, really, really love this too. ;)

We also got to try the BBQ Sesame Wings which has a sweet and tangy hickory BBQ flavor to it.

But if you prefer your chicken without bones, go for the Chicken Tenders instead. These chicken strips come with a choice of the following dips: bacon ketchup, BBQ, honey mustard, teriyaki, or garlic cheese.

Next, we had their Angus Patty Steak with Rice. Their 100% smashed Angus patty is placed on a bed of steamy rice, drizzled with their house made mushroom gravy and topped with a delicious chargrilled onion slab. The burger alone is more on the salty side, so I suggest maybe mixing it all up with the rice just to even out the flavor.

At this point, you're probably thinking, what's so special about The Burger Joint's burgers? Well, the burgers here are inspired from different regions of the United States. But what really sets them apart is the fact that they smash their burgers to create a nice crust on the top and bottom which holds in the freshness and juices of their burgers. They also make use of the freshest available ingredients - everything from the vegetables to the premium beef - and take note, their patties have no fillers nor preservatives in them. Here are some of the burgers my friends had that evening:

I ended up ordering the Southwest BBQ Burger, which features an angus patty with bacon, jack cheese, roasted tomato, onions, and bbq sauce.

I loved the flavors in this burger, though to be honest, I took out the onions because, well, I hate onions. Haha! Next time, I'll try the Baja (American cheese, sour cream, cilantro, watermelon salsa) or maybe even the Plain Jane (quarter pound hamburger with TBJ house sauce).

So if you're craving for authentic American burgers, do try out The Great American Burger Joint located inside SM Supercenter, Frontera Verde Drive, Pasig City.
