Great location and ambiance. The food was okay, too, with one huge downside - the price. Days after dining here, I read up on reviews and saw that their bento sets are what most people rave about. We didn't get to order it, but we were able to try the Gyudon (which sadly, doesn't come with an egg), the California Maki (common, but I'm a sucker for it), Ebi Mayo Maki (pretty similar to California Maki, except it doesn't have mangoes. Haha), and the Oyster Bacon Roll (which we loved!!)

Their executive chef, Chef Takayuki Takahashi, has been with them for 5 years; at one point, he came to our table offering us their Lapu-Lapu in Uni Sauce - at least that's what I think he offered. To be honest, this really turned me off. Why would a restaurant have their top chef go from table to table offering random dishes? I was about to say no, but my friend was so embarrassed, he immediately said yes. I was seriously disappointed, especially when he said "I'll heat it for you." Di manlang bago? I don't know if this is a common thing they do in Japan, or if it's just a way of getting rid of stocks. But yeah. I'm not sure I'd recommend this place. Eat at your own risk! Don't forget to come back and let me know your thoughts on it! Haha!

Toki is located at 2/F 32nd and 5th Building corner 32nd St. and 5th Avenue, BGC, Taguig.
