Boiling Seafood Restaurant, Alabang Town Center

Boiling Seafood Restaurant
Lately, I've been finding more and more reasons to drive down south. Aside from the new sights and fun roadtrips it brings, the restaurants I've been discovering like The Nest and Stacy's have been nothing short of amazing (food, ambiance, and all). The Boiling Seafood located in Alabang Town Center is no exception.

We were lucky that Paul Genito, one of the owners, was kind enough to accommodate us during lunch time on a Sunday. The restaurant was packed when we got there at 11am; it was only around 2:30pm when it started slowing down (yep, we were still eating 3 hours later haha).

The Boiling Seafood has been open for two years now, operating with the same concept as Boiling Crabs in the United States. They serve you shrimps, mussels, lobsters, and crabs in a plastic bag with their special sauces, and you throw your shells in a small bucket on the table. They made sure to incorporate the Asian taste, hence their sauces include cajun, sweet chili garlic, crab fat (aligue), coconut curry, and butter garlic. Aprons are provided so you don't have to worry about getting sauce stains on your shirt. (P.S. Eating with your hands is encouraged here.) Their seafood are guaranteed fresh, flown daily from Roxas City to Manila. They specialize in seafood, but they do offer some non-seafood options like fried chicken, spaghetti, and salad, as well.

Order your seafood in three easy steps:
Step 1: Pick your seafood (shrimps, crabs, clams, or lobster)
Step 2: Pick your sauce (cajun, sweet chili garlic, aligue, coconut curry, or butter garlic)
Step 3: How hot do you want it? (Tame, Mild, or Wild)

Below are ones we got to try :)
Boiling Seafood Restaurant
First up, we have the shrimps in sweet chili garlic sauce (shrimps are P595/350 grams). We got to try the tame version, which was okay for me because the spicier the food gets, the more I'll end up eating. And since this was the first dish, I had to control myself or else I wouldn't have made it til the end. Haha! Definitely trying the mild/wild next time though! :)

Here's the shrimps in crab fat (aligue) sauce. It looks similar to the one above, except the sauce is thicker and it doesn't have corn in it. Unfortunately for those with high blood pressure or high cholesterol, you can't have too much of this. I'd suggest avoiding it altogether because, I'm telling you, you won't be able to resist it! Lucky for me, I don't have any of those conditions, so I was able to eat as much as I wanted. Definitely my favorite dish of the day!

Next is the clams in coconut curry sauce (clams are P325/400 grams). Coconut milk and curry - two things I like! I kept pouring the sauce on my rice, but I do wish they had made it a bit thicker and not too diluted. I still liked it though!

The mussels in Cajun sauce (mussels are P325/400 grams) was slightly spicy and garlicky. By this time, they were already replacing our already-full buckets with new ones. We were so spoiled that day! My dad would so love this place, too. Please open a branch up north so I can visit more often!!

Crab Garlic Overload (P195/100 grams)

I've never seen so much garlic in one dish before! Garlic overload, indeed!

You can also request the staff to crack the shells for you. Ugh, look at all that fat.. so goooood.

And when we thought we were done for the day, they brought out the BBQ Baby Back Ribs -

 (full slab P995 / half slab P565)
