After exploring the different food options along Eastwood Avenue (Gourmet Farms Express, Ippudo, and Applebee's), we moved onto Annam Noodle Bar.
Annam Noodle Bar opened its first branch in the Philippines last July 6, 2016. It is actually the same as NamNam Noodle Bar which started in Singapore back in 2012 through director and owner Chef Nam Q Nguyen. Though they may have different names, the concept behind these restaurants are one and the same. They both offer quick and authentic Vietnamese dishes like banh mi and pho at affordable prices.
I love how the interiors transport you to a different world. I'm completely head over heels for the lanterns they used to light up the space! The restaurant also features a banh mi station where you can watch them prepare your order - kind of like a legitimate street food stall.
Sauces and utensils are placed on each table, so you already have everything you need once your food arrives. I believe that's really how they do it in other countries; it makes it more convenient for both the staff and diners.
Here, they sell a bunch of items including fish sauce and of course, Viet coffee.
Their pho-losophy? Quick, affordable, and no MSG! Check out the dishes we got to try:
Beef Combination Pho (P380)
rice flour noodles with intense beef broth boiled over 24 hours garnished with fresh herbs and spicy onions; beef slices, beef ball, beef tendon, beef honeycomb tripe, and beef ribs meat
Noodle Minced Pork (P360)
instant noodles with spicy pork, pork ball, soft boiled egg, lettuce, bean sprouts, and shrimp with garlic oil; garnished with mixed ribs, mixed onion, red chili, and black pepper with green chili fish sauxe, Quang soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and Samba chili
Lychee-Pandan Iced Tea (P150)
Viet Coffee with Condensed Milk (P120)
Lemongrass Pork Bahn Mi (P250)
Caramelized Five-Spice Pork Belly (P230)
We also got to watch Chef Isaac William Bravo prepare us a bowl of hot pho!
Thank you, Annam, for capping off our day with this delicious feast!
Annam Noodle Bar is located at Unit 4, Ground Floor, 1880 Building, Eastwood Avenue, Libis, Quezon City
