Star Cruises SuperStar Virgo: A Day on the High Seas

Star Cruises SuperStar Virgo
Read about what happens on a regular day on the high seas with SuperStar Virgo!

A few days ago, I wrote about our first day on SuperStar Virgo. We were able to do a bunch of things despite the fact that we hopped on board pretty late that afternoon (almost sunset!)

For day 2 of our cruise (aka our first and only full day on the high seas), we were already out of our rooms by 7am. First on the agenda? Breakfast.

Time for breakfast at The Lido!

I don't know why but for some reason, I tend to gravitate towards breads and jams rather than real food at breakfast buffets. I do attempt to try other things, but I usually end up eating at least two slices of wheat bread with butter and strawberry jam.

After a heavy breakfast, we headed to the gym for a quick run on the treadmill.

We were probably only there for 15 minutes until we had to shower and get ready for the bridge tour with the Captain! Normally, guests only get to see the Captain's Bridge behind glass, so I thought it was pretty cool hearing more about what they do and how they do it, straight from the Captain himself!

During the tour, we were given the chance to ask the Captain some questions about the ship. One of the questions asked was "Where are we right now?"

The funny thing was that Instagram's geotagged us somewhere in Osaka, so people were freaking out over it. But soon, we found out the truth - that we were only somewhere near Cavite. Haha!

After the tour, it was time for lunch. We finally got to try our second inclusive restaurant, Pavilion.

Pavilion
Here, they offer Chinese set menus which are inclusive of your cruise fare, but they also offer a la carte dishes (for a fee) should you be interested in trying something else. Please note that you can only dine once per meal period; your second meal is chargeable. For example, you can only eat lunch once a day. You can't eat at The Lido then transfer to Pavilion (even though they're both inclusive restaurants), unless of course, you're willing to pay the additional charges.

I love how each restaurant has a different vibe to it.

At 2pm, we did another tour - this time, around the entire cruise ship. There's definitely lots to see and do on SuperStar Virgo - I don't even think that six days is enough to do all of it, especially since you're going to disembark at Keelung and Okinawa on some of those days. So do try to explore as much as you can, but don't tire yourself out in the process. After all, it is a vacation! Here are some of the places worth visiting:

We also got a look at their Executive Suite which has a separate bedroom, mini bar, a luxurious sea view, and a bathroom jacuzzi. What more can you want in a room?
