Ayumi Japan Eyelash, Greenhills

From lash extensions to nail services, Ayumi now offers facials and massages as well!

Ayumi has been around for a while now, offering eyelash extensions and nail art all over the metro. I've honestly heard nothing but good things about them, so when the chance arose, I headed over to their newest branch at Unimart Greenhills. There, they also welcomed the newest addition to their family - House of Resha! House of Resha is a wellness spa that offers facials, body care, and lash lift. It's a pretty good combination, if you ask me - their services complement each other, making Ayumi sort of like a one-stop-shop for all things beauty. Hair nalang ang kulang. Also take note: all their products come from Japan.
For this visit, I availed of their Anti-Aging Spalia Gold Facial. One of the staff, Biel, recommended that I do the Resha Youth Facial but I felt like I needed the Gold facial more as it's supposed to boost hydration, plump and firm the skin. What really got me though was the fact that it includes a relaxing face, neck, and shoulder massage, so it's kind of like a two-in-one deal. Haha.
Just to give you more info, the Resha Youth Facial is more for treating breakouts and clogged pores, and helps restore radiance, while the Resha Refining and Revitalizing Facial revives impurities and dead skin while minimizing pores and smoothing the skin. Hmm I'll probably try the latter next time. I have huge pores so my skin needs all the help it can get!
Let me quickly go through what happens during the Anti-Aging Spalia Gold Facial:
First up: cleansing using the Spalia Cleansing Gel (with Biel's ever-so-gentle hands)
Once my face was properly cleansed, Biel applied the Spalia Peeling Gel which helps clear out dead skin cells and dry/dark spots, leaving the skin soft and smooth.

After wiping off all the dirt with warm water, she brought out the Spalia Moist Wash and an electronic brush to really get into the smaller areas, particularly the nose and chin. It was super relaxing, by the way. I think Biel went around my face two times with the brush.

She then applied the Spalia Milk Emulsion which is a water-based moisturizer that helps hydrate your skin, followed by the Essence Lotion. An essence is a lightweight, hydrating liquid, designed to help prepare skin for your moisturiser, post cleansing. Think of your skin like a sponge - once cleansed and dried, a dry sponge cannot as easily absorb moisture compared to a slightly damp one. Essence is the hydrating layer that properly primes the skin to best absorb your fancy serums and creams. (source)

I honestly don't know a whole lot about toners and essences and serums, so I had to do some research. I know some people follow the 10-step routine and things like that, but my evening routine mostly consists of washing my face with any facial wash and my Foreo Luna Play Plus and applying moisturizer (I'm currently using the Shiseido Benefiance NutriPerfect Night Cream).

To open the pores, Biel left me with a facial steamer for 10-15 minutes. This is the reason I had to do the facial before the lash extensions - the glue will not hold if subjected to heat/steam. A mini vacuuming session soon followed for removing whiteheads and blackheads and whatever else that could be clogging the pores. Then finally, the masks.

It was really the most relaxing facial I've had yet. Did you know that Japanese facials do not include pricking? So if you're looking to have your pimples popped or anything like that, this isn't the place. Ayumi's House of Resha is more of a rejuvenating and relaxing spa. I mean, we get massages for our bodies, why not get them for the face as well? Biel finished off with the Spalia Skin Cream, Lift Power Serum, and a really nice head massage that I almost fell asleep. Kung kailan patapos na :))

Here are the products Biel used for my facial:

House of Resha currently has promos for the facials. For every Japanese facial (Php 1,800) you avail, you get a free body massage. Trust me, this is worth it. I got a sample of this during my Anti-Aging Spalia Gold Facial. Hehe. You can also avail of their Buy 10, Get 5 Free promo or the Buy 6, Get 3 Free for their massages or facials!

A look at their massage room

After a few minutes, I went to the other room to get lash extensions. Here's how they looked before:

Since I don't normally wear eyeliner or mascara, I wanted something that had a more natural look to it, so I decided on getting the 80-80 Lashes (80 individual lashes for each eye). Ayumi makes use of sable lashes, which are very, very light. I couldn't help but compare them to when I got mink extensions a few years ago. I found them too heavy and sometimes, they even made my eyes itch (to the point where I'd wake up in the mornings with extensions AND my real lashes all over my pillow). Nakakatakot siya.

Dewy skin c/o the Spalia Facial haha

It's been a week since I had my lashes done at Ayumi and I absolutely love them. It seems like everyone does, too, because I've been getting compliments on them left and right. As in!! Halee put in 11mm C-curl lashes in various thickness - 0.15 and 0.20. The process took just one hour and I was able to open my eyes immediately after with no additional waiting time. Halee's definitely an expert when it comes to lashes, so I highly recommend booking her on your visit!

Here's how they look after:

They totally change your look and makes it seem like you did your make up in the morning when the truth is, you "woke up like this" hahaha (sorry, I just had to). Would I recommend getting eyelash extensions? Heck, yeah! If it makes you feel beautiful and your life so much easier (saves you a lot of time in the mornings, I swear), why not, right?? It's a pretty good investment - even my husband has been noticing me more lately. Haha! Eyelash extensions start at Php 1,000 for 40-40 Lashes.

I've been posting a lot about them on my Instagram stories as well, so if you haven't yet, do follow me on bettinabacani! :)
