For our third day in Japan, we went to three major places: Akihabara, the Tokyo Sky Tree, and Tokyo Cruise.
We woke up early morning to get a head start at Akihabara. It's a lively hub of everything electronic.
We woke up early morning to get a head start at Akihabara. It's a lively hub of everything electronic.
It is where I purchased my accessories for my cameras - lens cap (with a leash that you can tie to the strap), a lens brush (for cleaning), lens hood (to protect the lens from getting bumped), and screen protectors (to avoid scratches).
Akihabara may be dubbed as Japan's electronic town, but let me tell you, there's so much more to it than just that. You can also shop for anime goods, visit a maid cafe, and enjoy Gundam-themed food!
After shopping at Don Quijote, we then headed to the Sensoji Temple and Asakusa Shrine.
There were lots to see, from women in kimonos to souvenirs being sold on the path leading to the temple, and of course, the temple itself. We decided not to go inside though, since it was already late and we still wanted to squeeze in a couple of places in our itinerary before the day ended.
If you get hungry, know that there are food stalls by the side of the temple. Japan street food's pretty interesting too!
Our next stop? Tokyo Sky Tree! Our friend Joy was determined to go there from the temple, and since Google Maps told us it was just twenty minutes away, we went ahead and walked towards it.
We didn't make it though. About half way through, we were already dead tired.
So tired, in fact, that we decided to take the last available Tokyo Cruise, without even bothering to check where it would take us and how we would go home from there.
We took the Asakusa to Hinode Pier which costs ¥780. Not bad for a 40 minute scenic trip. It was actually kind of romantic.
From Hinode Pier, we walked to the nearest train station to go to Tokyo Station!
Tokyo at night!
And to cap off the night, we went to a mall and entered the first restaurant we saw with available seating.
Thank you, Japan, for another tiring yet fulfilling day!
