One of my favorite discoveries for 2017!
I know, I know, it's already 2018. Why am I still writing about my 2017 favorites? Well, I really wanted to start the year with some of the great restaurants that I visited last year but wasn't able to post about yet. In short, #latepost. Hahaha! But seriously, dining at GEN Korean BBQ House was an amazing experience, not only because of the people I was with (my KTG fam) but also the types of meat they serve there.

GEN Korean BBQ is a concept that started in the US. Unlike in other Korean BBQ places, GEN veers away from the norm by fusing different flavors by using ingredients found from all over the world. Here, you no longer need to dip your meats in gochujang (Korean chili paste) as they have already been marinated and come out really flavorful when cooked.
The GEN Korean BBQ House here in Manila is actually the first ever branch outside of the US and to my surprise, can seat up to 500 people! It's definitely huge, but I have no doubt that GEN can fill this space up as they offer top-of-the-line and premium all-you-can-eat meats, seafood, and vegetables to their guests.
And let's face it, we Filipinos love our meats!
Let's not forget the banchan or the side dishes! My favorite? The mashed potato and kimchi!
If you're planing to visit GEN over lunch, it will cost Php 798+ per person and include 28 items on the menu. Some favorites are the Hawaiian Bacon, Spicy Pork Bulgogi, and Red Wine Samgyupsal. This is not inclusive of drinks yet; for bottomless sodas and juices, there is an additional charge of Php 108. Though I would suggest skipping the drinks to leave room for more meat! :D
From the dinner menu, I loved the GEN Signature Yangyum Galbi (marinated bone-in short rib), GEN Premium Top Blade Steak, Calamares Frits, and Soondooboo Soup (spicy soft tofu).
It was only a few days ago when Tim and I went back to have dinner here. I love how quick the service is - they won't make you wait long for your meats or drinks. Aside from that, they change the grill every so often as it gets burnt easily. I think they replaced ours five times total over the course of our dinner.
Even Baby Eats had a grand time!
GEN Korean BBQ House is located at Building J, SM By The Bay, Seaside Boulevard, Mall of Asia Complex (MOA), Pasay City.
