Quick eats: what to try at Downtown & Halsted!
Headed over to Dwntown & Halsted to try the newest restaurant by bar owner and restaurateur Perry Quimbo (of Piedra, Dillingers, Prohibition, Bugsy's, and Red Rabbit).
For his new concept, Quimbo partnered with well-known street artists to decorate the establishment with graffiti art! You can also find deviant art, urban photographs, sketches, and other artworks for sale all over the restaurant as Quimbo aims to give up and coming artists an avenue to showcase their work! Way to support local artists, right?
Credited with successful restaurants such as Abuelas and Prime 101 under his belt, Chef Marco Legasto was the perfect partner to conceptualize the menu and head the kitchen; while world-renowned mixologist Jason Gray provided fresh and unique cocktail blends to ensure customers have the perfect drinks to pair with the sumptuous dishes on the menu.
What we had:
Mushroom Soup (P250)
Truffle Fries (P260)
Buffalo Tenders (P290)
Portobello and Quinoa Salad (P250)
Pork, Chicken, Lengua Skewers
Baby Calamari with Salted Egg Aioli (P190)
Crispy Pork Knuckles (P580)
Braised Barbecue Short Ribs (P580)
Seafood Pasta (P350)
Also make sure to check out their bar menu, 'cause it's definitely worth seeing (and trying!)
