From June 9 to June 30, celebrate with F1 Hotel Manila as they hold their annual Luzviminda Festival - this year featuring chefs Mikel Zaguirre, Dennis Uy and Kalel Chan!
Already on its 5th year, the Luzviminda Festival aims to honor and celebrate Filipino Food. This year's theme Gastronomical Fusion features three chefs, namely Mikel Zaguirre, Dennis Uy and Kalel Chan, to represent Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, respectively.

In line with the celebration of the National Independence Day, F1 Hotel Manila commenced the launching of LuzViMinda 5: Gastronomical Fusion to highlight modern culinary techniques that brings out the zeal of our traditional dishes, headed by Executive Chef Decker Gokioco, of course, with the great ideas from the three guest chefs.

For Luzon, Chef Mikel Zaguirre's creations were inspired by heirloom dishes meticulously researched and adapted for the modern palate. Though it may have been challenging for him to present classical cuisine in a modern setting, he still succeeded - with dishes like Adobo Short Ribs sa Gata, Lumpiang Sisig, and my personal favorite, Crispy Pata Roulade!

For Visayas, expect dishes like Cochinillo de Cebu and Humba Cebuano from Chef Dennis Uy. His technique is all about blending flavors and getting inspiration from his travels around the Philippines - cooking in the most traditional way and plating them contemporarily.

Chef Kalel Chan shows his passion for food by studying classic Mindanao cuisine for the event - he is actually not from there, but he took it upon himself to learn the cuisine. He reached out to some of his friends for research and injected his modern way of cooking to it. His creativity was tested and resulted into sumptuous dishes - the Ribeye Rendang, Grilled Bagaybay on Oysters, and Chicken Piyanggang, to name a few.

There's lots more to try at the Luzviminda Festival this June - check out these photos for more drool-worthy dishes from the chefs, including F1's very own, Executive Chef Decker Gokioco.
