New on the menu: Clam Chowder Ramen, Torched Salmon Roll, and Teba Gyoza!
I first tried Ippudo in December 2016 when they were offering the Akamaru Special and Kuro Ramen. They're back at it again with some new dishes, namely the Clam Chowder Ramen, the Torched Salmon Roll, and the Teba Gyoza.

But before we head to the main event, let me first introduce their latest appetizers!
Torched Salmon Roll (P295)
Ippudo's take on a torched Salmon Sushi Roll topped with creamy mentaiko mayo and fish roe

I LOVE this!! I've recently discovered my love for salmon, and this one's really good! Would you believe I ate an entire order (5 pieces) on my own?

Yumyum! Definitely a good deal for P295!

Teba Gyoza (P230)
deep fried chicken wings stuffed with meaty gyoza filling and served with a tangy gyoza sauce

Someone described this as "gyoza na may hawakan" and I completely agree! It's like fried gyoza mixed with a bit of chicken meat, best drizzled with lemon juice and dipped in the gyoza sauce. I like that they're offering something really new to the public, although to be honest, I would rather stick with good ol' pan fried gyoza (just because I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken).

Last but not the least, the Clam Chowder Ramen! Last May 15, 2017, Ippudo offered the first 50 guests in all branches free bowls of their newest limited edition ramen! My friends and I didn't make the cut, but we still made sure to sample the soulful fusion before the day ended.
Clam Chowder Ramen (P520)
thick noodles flavored with black pepper spice served with a combination of Ippudo's signature Tonkotsu broth enhanccd with bechamel sauce and truffle oil. Topped with fresh clams and a generous dusting of parmesan cheese; best served with a side of crispy bacon!

It reminded me of pasta with really thick and flavorful sauce, especially with the parmesan cheese and the bread they served it with. It wasn't exactly the clam chowder taste I was expecting, but I really liked how the different ingredients and flavors complemented one another in this dish. I would probably just order one to share next time since it's really heavy, but yeah, it is totally a ramen worth trying.

Ippudo is located at Third Floor, Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City.
