Cubanos Fil-Cuban Cantina is a blend of great flavors from both Filipino and Cuban cuisines. The inspiration came from the Cuban sandwich called cubanos and its Hispanic history; they just combined Filipino flavors to fit the Pinoy taste better.
Here we'll see dishes that are not only mouth-watering, but affordable as well. Located at City Golf in Ortigas, they opened with a bang by offering a full rack of ribs for only Php315! Their cubanos range from Php175 to Php190, so it's definitely a great place to hang with friends, even on a budget!
Cubanos has both indoor and outdoor (smoking) dining areas.
Good Morning Cuba (P190)
The evening started with the Good Morning Cuba. It's Cubanos' homemadr chorizo served with sunny side eggs and flour tortillas.
It's a good size for sharing. The flavors are really good as well. You can opt to eat it as is, or add some sauce to it.
After taking photos, we mixed it all together and wrapped some into the tortillas. I really enjoyed it with their spicy sauce.
Lemon Pepper Wings (P180)
I thought their Lemon Pepper Wings were quite affordable. In one order, you get 7 pcs of crispy fried wings glazed with lemon butter sauce and a touch of pepper for that extra kick.
BBQ'D Elote (P48)
I loved this! They served buttered corn on the cob sprinkled with shaved parmesan and house blend BBQ mixture. It's not the usual corn on the cob you get in other places - the flavor is much more interesting, in my opinion, and for just Php48 too!
Classic Cubano (P185)
Our first cubano was their Classic Cubano with roasted pork mojo, ham, pickles, cheese, and spices.
It also contains some yellow mustard in it, which brought everything together nicely.
The fries could've used some more flavoring though.
Cubano Filipino (P185)
Being a Filipino-Cuban restaurant, they couldn't skip out on creating a Filipino version of a cubano sandwich - enter the Cubano Filipino. This one contains roasted lechon kawali, pulled pork and sweet soy on a Cuban pan de sal. The portion I got had too much fat in it though, but I still liked the flavor overall.
Peri Peri Inasal (P195)
Peruvian inspired charcoal grilled chicken with a touch of Bacolod's famous inasal

Their inasal was okay. It's supposed to be "Peruvian inspired charcoal grilled chicken with a touch of Bacolod's famous inasal," but it tasted pretty plain to me.
Fidel's Cuban Ribs (P220 / P315)
Now here's something you cannot miss - their cuban ribs! Woul you believe that the one in the photos is just Php220? Yes, that's just the half rack!
These soft and tender ribs are coated with sweet and spicy bbq glaze, so if you have low tolerance for all things spicy, stay away from the extra sauce.
Overall, Cubanos is a great place for those seeking affordable food trips in Pasig.
