Hobing Korean Dessert Cafe

Your best friend on hot days like today!

The weather has been crazy humid lately, so what better way to beat the heat than by eating bingsu?! For those who aren't familiar, bingsu is a Korean dessert that mixes shaved ice with various ingredients like fruits, red beans, condensed milk, and brownies.

Some Zomato foodies and I headed over there after our meet up at Pablo's Pub. I was supposed to bring my car, but Gio told us it was a short ten-minute walk, so we decided to walk together.

GAAH it was definitely NOT "a short ten-minute walk", but more like twenty or thirty minutes! We were already sweating when we arrived (sobrang diyahe, guys) so it was a good thing we were about to have some bingsu!
Hobing
It was already past nine when we arrived, so that's probably why there aren't so many people. My guess is that they're full during the day, especially in the afternoons when it's crazy hot out!
Hobing
They have a cold barley tea and water station that's free for all. I definitely took advantage of the barley! It's so refreshing!!

Their menu is not just limited to bingsu, they have rice cakes, pastries, coffee, ice blended drinks, and more!

What we ordered:

Injeolme Bingsu (P175 / P250)
Hobing
I started with this because it's everyone's least favorite. I was told it's glutinous rice cakes with soy bean powder. It wasn't that bad, it's just that the powder makes you thirstier (the same way peanut butter does).

Choco Brownie Bingsu (P235 / P360)
Hobing
One of our group's favorites! What I love about this is that it's not overly sweet. The shaved ice is chocolate flavored and there's generous amounts of brownies and chocolate syrup in there, but it doesn't come out too chocolatey, which is amazingggg!!
Hobing
Don't be fooled by the sizes though. The regular size is still good for two people.

Milk Redbean Bingsu (P175 / P250)
Hobing
If you like red bean, you gotta try this. It wasn't my favorite, but it was alright :)

BerryBerry Cheese Bingsu (P255 / P380)
Hobing
Woaaah the flavors in this one was just over the top delicious! Even if you just eat the shaved ice, it's still flavorful! They pour generous amounts of syrup and for what you pay for, that's a good amount of real berries too, don't you think??
Hobing
It's a semi-healthy bingsu, so long as you avoid all the whipped cream. Though I don't see why anyone would do that? Whipped cream is win!

Mango Cheese Bingsu (P195 / P310)
Hobing
Another contender for bingsu of the night is this one! I mean, who doesn't love mangoes??? Plus it has chunks of cheese in it!
Hobing
P.S. Everything we ordered was just the regular size. :)

That's everything my Zomato friends and I had that night. Though I did come back a week later with my highschool buddies and ordered this - the Strawberry Bingsu (P215 / P330)
Hobing
It's a mix of sweet and sour and perfect for strawberry fans! I feel like I'm getting more than what I pay for with this one. Just look at all that strawberries!
Hobing
Note to bingsu eaters: Do not mix ice with the toppings!

Thanks so much for the fun night, guysss!<3
