Drove all the way to BGC for this one.
Adaäm and Yves is an organic bistro that serves an all-day breakfast menu. Unlike most breakfast places that have bright, pastel interiors, this one has a more industrial feel to it. There's a kind of seriousness to it, I don't exactly know how to explain it, but this isn't the type of place to go to if you're looking to lay back and stuff your faces in comfort food. For me, breakfast equals comfort food. So I don't know. This place is definitely fancier than most.
I can see it as a great place for meetings and after office hang outs though.
On the second floor is a wine and whiskey lounge called Signum House. You can order drinks to go with your food downstairs, but not the other way around.
Cabo Quesadilla (P340)
free-range chicken sausage bits, free-range eggs, cheese, sour cream, whole wheat tostillas, tomato salsa
Two large pieces of quesadilla. Not the usual thin kind, but it's really good. Unfortunately, while I was eating, I bit on a small piece of chicken bone. Plus the egg was really salty.
Road Runner (P760)
grilled organic ostrich steak, two free-range eggs (any style), choice of sweet potato mash, sweet potato hash, or French beans, mixed hydroponic beans
Tim loved the ostrich steak and it was nice that the kitchen accommodated his request to make one of the eggs hard boiled (it wasn't included in the options). My only issue is that they didn't ask which siding he preferred, they automatically gave him the sweet potato hash, not that it was bad or anything. I really liked it. It would've been better with some sauce though.
Eggs Benedict (P395)
whole grain English muffin, poached free-range eggs, chicken ham, hollandaise sauce
I don't know why, but whenever I see these two words on a menu, I tend to order it - even though I've been failed so many times. I initially planned on ordering the Noli Me Tangere (tapa) but I figured Tim was ordering already steak, so I went with something lighter instead. I only read about Adaäm and Yves the other day and saw that the tapa is one of their bestsellers. Darn it! I shouldn't have changed my order. The eggs benedict was more of a one note dish, I honestly forgot that it was supposed to have chicken ham until I reached the middle. It blended in too well with the egg and bread, I guess. Overall, the dish didn't really stand out for me.
The best part about the meal was that we had a part of the restaurant all to ourselves. We topped our meal with their house wine, which only costs P98 on Wednesdays, so yay! Thanks, Tim! :)
