Stylash Concept Salon: Eyelash Extensions

Are you always rushing to work? Can't find the time to do your make up in the mornings? Here's one way you can shorten your routine - get eyelash extensions!

For many ladies out there, getting ready to go out can be a long process. Whether we're going to the mall or the bank, we always want to look our best. But let's face it, it's not easy waking up an hour earlier just to apply make up (powder, foundation, concealer, bronzer, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lipstick, etc.) and then spending another hour at night to remove it.

Then, there are those *coughmecough* whose limited knowledge begins with putting on blush and ends with a lip balm (haha!). Whichever type of girl you are, one thing's for sure - we all want to have long lashes, right?? :)
Since my friend Olive is a make up expert (while I'm obviously not), I figured I'd invite her to get eyelash extensions with me to get her thoughts on the service as well.

Stylash Concept Salon opened its doors to the public in December 2013. In just a year, they already have six stores and are planning to open their 7th in March 2015. That's a new store every two months!

I'm not sure how their rates compare to others eyelash salons, so I'm posting their price list here for reference. I went with the Glamorous (200 pieces both eyes), while Olive got the Super Star (240 pieces both eyes).
Aside from the five styles you can choose from, you can also customize the shape and length of your lashes! Go with J shape if you want it to look more natural, and C shape if you want curlier lashes.
Stylash makes use of mink eyelashes, which are the lightest in the market and used even by Hollywood stars.
Unlike false lashes which come in strips, eyelash extensions are glued on piece by piece; it takes longer to apply (about an hour), but the results are worth it. Here are the steps for those looking into getting extensions as well!

The first thing they do is clean the area around the eye to remove oils and make up. Next, they apply the Q10 collagen which can lessen wrinkles, moisturize, and remove dark spots.
According to the owner, Tiff, they are the first salon to offer Q10 collagen treatments FREE to its clients.
Once the Q10 collagen is in place, they will use tape to hold it down; they'll also put tape on your eyelids to keep you from opening your eyes while the glue is still wet.
Don't worry, the glue they use is medical grade and hypoallergenic, so it's safe to use near the eyes. Remember, if you're planning to get eyelash extensions, make sure the salon uses products that will not harm your skin! ;)
The lashes normally stay for 1-2 months, depending on how you care for it. If you want it to last longer, you can get regular touch-ups to replace the ones that have fallen off.
Here are some of the things I've learned since my visit to Stylash:
(1) Do not rub your eyes or lashes to avoid ruining them.
(2) Do not attempt to pull, cut, or remove your lash extensions as it can be painful.
(3) Always pat dry your extensions with facial tissue after showering.
(4) Use the brush provided so your lashes don't get tangled.

Keep these in mind so you can have your beautiful lashes for as long as possible! ;)
Once the glue is dry, they'll carefully remove the tape and Q10 collagen, then do their final checks on the lashes.
Before they let you go, Stylash will give you a Customer Aftercard that contains tips on caring for your eyelashes. It also serves as a loyalty card where you can get discounts on your 3rd, 6th, and 10th visits! :)
They also have a ton of contact lenses for sale at P399 a pair. Do check them out!
A big thank you to the Stylash team, especially Tiff, for having us over last month! My colleagues couldn't help complimenting me about my beautiful lashes! Olive also loved her extensions - so much so that she actually visited Stylash over the weekend to have them redone! :)
