In October 2012, the first Nail Cocktales branch opened in Tomas Morato. With its unique concept and excellent service, it's no wonder they're growing exceptionally fast. In less than two years, they are already in nine locations, with two more in the works.
The newest one opened in Libis three weeks ago. When the owner, Ms. Cheryl Ty, resigned from her job and decided to have her own business, Nail Cocktales was the first thing that popped in her head.
She and her sister used to be regular customers at the main branch; they really like the concept of Nail Cocktales being "a getaway from the city within the city" and its cocktail drinks theme. Where else can you see a nail spa that has its own organic scents developed by its own chemist? Even though Ms. Cheryl has been to the more popular nail spas in the metro, it was still Nail Cocktales that stood out for her.
Ms. Cheryl has been very hands-on since they opened. She attends to the customers - welcoming them and entertaining any questions - and makes sure they are comfortable. In the above photo, she is on the phone with a client for another spa party booking (their fourth!)
Even though Nail Cocktales' branches are designed the same, the owners are encouraged to add their own touch to make their branch stand out in its own way.
For Libis, what I really love are these gorgeous shelves that they use to hold their nail polish.
For now, they have Cuccio, Cuccio Gel, Zoya, Misa, and BK, but they're planning to add matte polish, China Glaze, and Ruby Wing to the list soon!
Aside from the shelves, I also adore the different sized frames/mirrors hanging on the wall!
Of course, no Nail Cocktales branch is complete without their signature crystal curtains. <3
For this visit, I went with one of their Yummylicious Treats - Banana Berry! It's part of their Rainy Day Specials promo, and it includes manicure, pedicure, and foot spa for only P499.
One thing Nail Cocktales makes sure of is that their nail technicians are well-trained, so I was completely relaxed the entire time. I slouched on their extremely comfortable armchairs - tablet in one hand (yes, they have wifi!) and cocktail drink in the other.
Since I already wrote reviews on my visits to their Tomas Morato (one, two) and D. Tuazon branches before, I decided to do something different in this post.
I decided to bring Mike with me to try Nail Cocktales' Men's Collection!
Mike was very hesitant at first. I understand how visiting a nail spa can be emasculating, but I just couldn't help laughing when Mike told me that he didn't want his nails painted. He seriously thought nail polish was mandatory when getting a mani pedi!! Now I know why he never agreed to go with me to any of my nail spa sessions in our two and a half years of being together! HAHA! :P
He might get mad at me for posting that, but it's too funny not to share!! :P
Anyway, Mike got to try the Captain Cola. For P400, you already get a pedicure and foot spa; but if you want to get a manicure/paraffin, they have packages for that as well.
For first time ever, Mike's feet got pampered. It's something I thought he needed because he plays football during the weekend and does a lot of walking/traveling for work. Good to know it did the trick because Mike played really well the following day.
Also, he was so relieved when Reah took out his ingrown and it didn't hurt (unlike when he takes it out on his own). I'm so glad Nail Cocktales was able to make his first time at a nail spa a great one. I can already see him inviting me for another mani pedi session in the near future. :P
So yeah, guys, if you want to get your nails done, it's completely fine. It doesn't make you less manly - in fact, it's a great way to bond with your girlfriends!;)
Nail Cocktales also offers waxing and threading services. I got my eyebrows done for only P100 and I happen to think they look good. It took me a while to have them threaded again since the last time I did, it hurt so much and the worst part is, it was uneven. :/ Thank God for Nail Cocktales and Reah (she also gives the best massage, so ask for her when you visit!)
So, from me, Mike, and my powder blue nails, congratulations, Ms. Cheryl! Thank you for having us! :)
Aside from their Rainy Day Specials, Nail Cocktales Libis is giving clients 20% off on all services until the end of September. This discount also applies for gift certificates, so it might be a good time to hoard them! :)
