Rustic Mornings with Mike

Rustic Mornings

No relationship is perfect. That's a truth we all have to accept. Every couple has their ups and downs. Oftentimes, we fight, and we end up crying or hurting the other person. No matter how hard we try to avoid it, it will happen. What's important is that we know how to apologize and admit to our mistakes. We have to learn how to communicate with our significant other and at the same time, learn to listen to what they have to say. It may be important to win in competitive sports or chess, but the same doesn't apply to relationships and arguments (unless you're part of the debate team). We should never let pride get in the way of what could be a happy relationship.

My relationship with Mike has never been anywhere close to perfect. To tell you the truth, we probably have more downs than ups in the two years that we've been together. There are still a lot of things we need to work on, that's for sure - but we love each other, and that's enough reason to keep going.

The recent months have been nothing but a crazy roller coaster ride for our relationship, so we decided to forget everything and start over with a clean slate, and what better way to do that than with a romantic brunch at Rustic Mornings!

A lot of people have been posting pictures from their visits to Rustic Mornings on Instagram and Facebook, and it got me intrigued. Rustic Mornings is absolutely lovely and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a new date/brunch place. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go around last Saturday since the place was packed and I didn't want to seem like I was taking pictures of the people eating. So let me just share with you some photos I got from their website. :)

Beautiful, right? Visit RusticMornings.com for more photos! <3

We arrived around 10am, and since the air-conditioned area was already full, we were led to the garden area instead. At first, we didn't mind and actually found it quite nice to be surrounded by nature. Then it started getting humid and the next thing we knew, we were sweating. We didn't really care, though, since we were already starving. :P

We ordered their Chicken Fricassee (which is good for two) and shared an order of rice. The meat was cooked just right, and the sauce was really creamy which I liked.

We also tried their Pinoy Burrito with Mushroom Sauce. I think this was the first time I tried a fried burrito and I'm pretty happy that it didn't come out oily. In fact, it remained crunchy until the very last bite. I just wish the rice and beef had more flavor. I had to keep pouring sauce on it so I could taste something.

Basically, the food was okay; I will probably ask for their bestsellers before ordering next time. The location is a different story though. I love the garden ambiance combined with the homey feel put together. It's definitely the place to go if you want to just be in the moment and enjoy the company of the person you're with.
