High Street Cafe, Shangri-La at the Fort

Here are some of the new dishes to love at High Street Cafe's breakfast buffet!

Breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day. I can never leave the house without eating breakfast, and sometimes, I'd even have it twice (once at home and my second one at work haha) It's always a good way to start one's day, and I believe it also sets the mood for how your entire day goes. So for me, having a good breakfast is definitely important.
High Street Cafe
The day before I left for the US, Shangri-La at the Fort invited some foodies to try out their newest breakfast offerings at High Street Cafe. And boy, was that a great morning.
High Street Cafe
High Street Cafe is Shangri-La at the Fort's all day dining restaurant which features a colorful variety of flavorful, quality cuisines from around the world. I've been to a couple of their other restaurants before; I personally love the authentic Peruvian fare at Samba, the deliciously tender steaks at Raging Bull Chophouse and Bar, and the unique cocktails at High Street Lounge. I even brought my mom and my sister for breakfast there one time!

But if you're looking for the ultimate breakfast experience, you better head over to High Street Cafe. It was actually my first time there and I was surprised to see how huge the place was (and how many people were there, having breakfast on a Thursday!)

More than the food, I guess it also helps that they have such a welcoming and homey environment there. The staff are extremely nice and attentive and the seats are crazy comfortable - I could stay there all day!
High Street Cafe
I especially love their floor to ceiling glass windows so the room is filled with natural light - it's quite refreshing, if you ask me. But enough about the place, let's move on to the food!
High Street Cafe
They started us off with some shooters made with ginger, pineapples, and all that good stuff. It gave us jolts of energy for the day (and food) ahead. Haha
High Street Cafe
First is this Guimaras Mangoes with Chia Seeds, Oats, and Yogurt. Just by looking at it, you already know you're in for something healthy! I highly enjoyed this one, and I'm sure you will too!
High Street Cafe
Next, we had their Cream Cheese Pan de Sal with Bacon and Baked Egg. I definitely love a good pandesal for breakfast, and if we're being honest here, I actually had two of these. High Street Cafe takes our favorite pandesal a few notches higher with this delicious and Instagram-worthy version. Egg porn, anyone?
High Street Cafe
Classic Pork Congee with Century Egg - a no fail breakfast item that will surely fill you up.
High Street Cafe
Now if noodles are your thing, go ahead and get yourself a bowl of their Pontian Noodles. The flavors are sweet and salty, mixed together with textures from the fresh bean sprouts and sesame seeds. It's a treat in every bite!
High Street Cafe
But I think everyone's favorite was High Street Cafe's take on Beef Pares. It's such a simple dish, yet done with such elegance and quality ingredients. It's something you can find yourself eating on a random Sunday at home, and to be able to have it at Shangri-La at the Fort on a daily basis is just pure heaven.
High Street Cafe
Last, but not the least, is the Banana Nutella Flatbread. Packed with fresh bananas, a generous serving of nutella, and chocolate and caramel sauce on top of their homemade flatbread - it's the perfect treat for kids and kids at heart. It satisfied my sweet tooth cravings and I went home with a happy tummy.
High Street Cafe
So yes, the next time you're looking for a great place to have breakfast with your friends and family, head over to High Street Cafe at Shangri-La at the Fort for that ultimate breakfast experience!
