Hey, I Cooked!

Let's see how long I can keep this up.

Last Sunday, I prepared lunch for the family. I had bought my ingredients days before, making sure that I had all that I needed and more (backup plan, in case something happens).

I started making the pasta at 10am. It's not really all that different from regular spaghetti; the sauce is a mix of Italian-style spaghetti sauce, tomato paste, fish sauce, some water, pepper, and lots of tomatoes. It was my mom who recommended I add fish sauce instead of salt, and it turned out okay. We cooked the Skinless Chicken Longganisa from Suy Foods with some garlic then poured the sauce into it. For the pasta, I picked rigatoni just to change it up a bit. It should be available in all supermarkets.

For the pizza bites, I made my own dough. If you're planning to make your own too, I highly suggest doing this early on since you still have to wait for the yeast rise.

For the toppings, I placed tomato sauce, onions, sauteed mushrooms, Suy Foods Skinless Chicken Longganisa in spicy flavor, and some cheese!

It was only then when I realized that our oven was broken! I pre-heated it a few minutes before; I don't know what happened, it just died all of a sudden.

My mom came to the rescue and decided we cook it on a pan instead. It worked!

Lastly, we prepared our favorite squash soup, with my mom's help. I honestly didn't know this before, but apparently, my mom doesn't like squash soup, but she still cooks it because we like it. My mom's the best.

For this one, I thought it'd be nice to add some chicken longganisa (still from Suy Foods), just to give it some additional texture and flavor. I really liked how it turned out.

Suy Foods products are made from chicken and are Halal-certified; they're available at Puregold, Robinsons Supermarkets, The Landmark, Waltermart, Sta. Lucia East, NCCC Mall, and Choicemart in Davao.

We ended our meal with some red velvet cupcakes from Maraschino Bakeshop. It's my favorite ones. I got them a few days before, fresh out of the oven!

I'm going to try to cook at least once every month. I already have an idea on what I want to do for February, but if you guys have any suggestions, feel free to comment them below! ;)
