Xing Fu Tang, Greenhills

My first time trying Xing Fu Tang!

I have been trying to avoid milk tea places for months now, and for two whole months, I’ve been successful, until I stumbled upon Xing Fu Tang. Remember a few posts back when I talked about Choi Hot Pot? Well, that very same day, I got to try the popular Xing Fu Tang and their much talked about Brown Sugar Boba Milk. Everyone’s been posting about it on social media but I didn’t understand the hype until I watched them stir fry the boba up close. Unlike in other milk tea places, they actually do the cooking right in front for all to see.

They mix brown sugar with the boba (or pearls) until it turns sticky and sweet with a nearly burnt sugar flavor. It smells so, so good and fun to chew as well!! The texture of the boba is a huge factor for me so I’m glad that theirs is neither tough nor mushy but right smack in the middle. After that, they add in fresh milk and cover it all in a dense layer of rich cream and a generous blow-torched brown sugar to achieve a semi-crude texture resulting in an overall ultra-creamy drink!
But aside from their brown sugar selections, did you know that Xing Fu Tang offers other drinks as well? They have about 20 different drinks on their menu (this already includes the Black Cup Series) so there’s something for everyone. I was pleasantly surprised with their Lemon Black Tea. Tim’s the one who usually goes for drinks like this but after the meal we had at Choi, I found this one really refreshing. It’s a good alternative for those trying to avoid the calories from all that brown sugar and milk. Hehe.
Another much raved about drink here is the Mango Smoothie and Rabbit Panna Cotta and the Soda and Handmade Jelly which is the sparkliest drink I’ve ever seen! Kids and kids at heart will love these. (Wasn't able to take a photo of the Soda since everyone wanted to take a boomerang of it! :P
If you’re looking for something a bit more different, go for the Matcha Boba Milk, which begins with a nice strawberry flavored boba and a layer of milk then topped with matcha green tea. For those seeking healthier options, there’s the Black Cup series which ranges from Green Tea, Black Tea, Oolong, Green with Oolong, and Roselle Tea.

Visit them at Greenhills, The Podium and soon, at Venice Grand Canal Mall!
