The Grid: Gochu-Gang, Beefier, and Babu

Checking out what's new at The Grid!

Recently met up with some friends from The KTG to check out what's new at The Grid in Powerplant Mall! This time around, we visited three stalls - Gochu-Gang, Beefier, and Babu!

Stall #5: Gochu-Gang
Gochu-Gang by Chef Pat Go is all about Korean food. Nowadays, everyone seems to be into Korean food, but honestly, it's really a quality versus quantity situation.  I personally prefer quality, even though it may cost me more. And I'm so glad that Gochu-Gang did not disappoint. I really enjoyed everything we tried from their stall - from the Fire Noodles to the Beef Japchae to the Kimchi Fried Rice (I swear, it's so hard to find good ones in Manila)! They also offer Pork Samgyupsal for those who can't seem to get over their samgyup fever and numerous Bibimbap options (beef ribeye, beef tenderloin, pork belly, chicken kalbi, or mushroom bulgogi). If I can only recommend one dish, it would have to be the Fire Noodles. It's really spicy but it's just too good to pass up!

Stall #6: Beefier
Obviously, it's all about meat! Here, the main highlights are the burgers and steaks, so if these two are things you enjoy eating, then you definitely have to stop by Beefier on your next visit! The burgers are ground fresh in their kitchen and paired with custom-made potato buns! Choose from Beefier, Cheesier, Beefiest, and Cheesiest! I swear, it doesn't get any simpler than this!

If you're dining with a big group, I would also suggest ordering the steaks. They're cooked just the way I like it - medium! Whether you go for the Hangar Steak or USDA Prime Ribeye, it will surely be a dining experience worth remembering.

P.S. Do also try the Strawberry Roasted Sesame Slush Tea and Gravy Boat Burger Steak

Stall #7: Babu
Chef Him Uy De Baron does it again with Babu - a stall that focuses on laksa, Asian BBQ, and chicken rice. Their menu is small compared to other stalls', but I personally think that's a good thing. It means they've already perfected whatever you're ordering. I'm not usually a fan of Hainanese chicken but theirs is amazing!! The price is great too, I mean, not bad for Php 290! Their Nasi Lemak comes with either fried chicken or grilled salmon depending on preference (I absolutely loved the salmon!!); while their Laksa is a dish perfect for sharing. It's something I can imagine having again on a rainy afternoon.

If you're looking for a place to catch up with friends or celebrate milestones with family, I highly recommend The Grid. Not only do they have the space, but they also have a ton of dishes to choose from. No matter what you're craving for, they'll probably have it there!

P.S. Check out Workshop at The Grid for sweet and savory crepes as well as other desserts!
