Althea Makeup Tutorial

Here's a quick everyday makeup tutorial using only Althea products!

Earlier this month, Althea sent me a box of makeup and asked me to create a look using their products. Even though I only know the basics, I accepted the challenge, because this is something I've always wanted to learn more about. My knowledge on makeup may be limited to lip tints and cheek mousse, but that's all going to change real soon. So bare with me as I try to do this tutorial with you guys. ♥

To tell you the truth, I've been putting this off for weeks, but this morning when I woke up, I was determined to slash this off my to-do list. Next, I grabbed their new Flawless Creamy Concealer. This pigmented, blendable (and buildable) concealer will help hide dark spots and blemishes at an affordable price of Php 200. It has a moisturizing, creamy, and long-wearing formula that will give you a soft, semi-matte finish. It comes in four shades - Vanilla, Ginger, Honey, and Mocha.

I used #03 Honey to cover redness around my nose and chin, and to hide my under-eye circles as well. Blend it out with a brush, a sponge, or your fingers (my preferred tool) until seamless.

Althea also sent me their Skin Relief Spot Film Gel (P240) for covering up zits or pimples. Some prefer to use pimple patches but I've honestly never tried them. This product helps soothe and treat while protecting the area or the pimple from external pollutants. I'll give this a go the next time I breakout.. Though I'm hoping it won't be anytime soon. *crosses fingers*

Next step is to use their Watercolor Cream Tint (P260) for both the lips and cheeks. Out of all the products they sent, I was most excited for these. These are something I can use everyday and easily apply while on the go. The Watercolor Cream Tints come in Plum Cream, Strawberry Cream, Peach Cream, and Marron Cream. When I first saw the swatches on Althea's Instagram page, I thought I'd be overusing Marron Cream, but I found that I enjoy using Peach Cream more.

These pretty tubes give you the best of all worlds with the pigmentation of a lipstick, the long-wearing power of a stain and the moisturizing formula of a gloss. Bold, pigmented and equipped with a pretty sheen, these lippies contain hyaluronic acid and squalene to prevent chapped lips from flaking, perfect for stashing in your purse for easy touch-ups and comfortable wear.

P.S. When using the Watercolor Cream Tints, I would recommend putting it on your finger first and using that to dab the product onto your cheeks or lips, rather than applying it directly as it can be difficult to control once it's already there (especially if you have dry skin like me).

Then came the tricky part - the eyes. I have very little experience when it comes to eye makeup, but the BCL x Althea Sunrise and Moonrise Palette was surprisingly easy to use. The pigmented shadows glide easily on to the skin and blend out like a dream. Made in collaboration with Bunga Citra Lestari, these 8 shades will take you from gorgeous daytime to sultry night time, giving you the effortlessly glamorous feminine style Bunga is known for.

I used the shimmery nude as my base (upper left) then topped it with rich brown shadow (lower left). I still have to learn how to use the rest of the colors, especially the cool purple, deep wine, and metallics.

If you want that extra sparkle, finish your look off with the Spotlight Eye Glitter (P300). This sparkly number doubles up as both an eyeshadow and a liner to light up the eyes for some perky, glamorous peepers. Whether you like a subtle glow or a full-on glitter look, these have a hydrating formula that glides on like butter over the lids, allowing for an easy blend. Don't wait too long though, as they do set down, making them virtually budge-proof after. Pick from two pretty shades to suit your look!

I applied a little bit of Gold Light onto my tear duct area. I made it as subtle as possible, though some people prefer to go all out and apply this all over the outside of their eyes. I seriously can't imagine doing all these steps every day, so I really admire girls who take time to do their makeup on a regular basis.

Like I said, I'm not someone who wears makeup all the time, but here's the finished look. I'm so sorry about my brows, I still need to have them groomed. :))
