Italian cuisine takes center stage at Cucina, Marco Polo Manila, this August!
Go on a gastronomical journey of regional recipes and robust flavours at Cucina this August! Featuring what is arguably one of the most famous cuisines in the world, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s Cucina allows guests to experience Italy in the heart of the city.
I, for one, am super excited for this as Italian cuisine is a huge favorite of mine! I'm all about pizzas and pastas, but of course, knowing Marco Polo Manila, they have so much more in store for us than just that.
As part of this special celebration, guests can begin their meals with traditional anti pasti dishes with Buffalo Mozzarella and Roma Tomato Bruschetta, as well as and premium cold cuts of Mortadella, Milano Salami and Bresaola.
During the launch, we also enjoyed their fresh Seafood Salad with Lemon Thyme Dressing and Grilled Artichoke Hearts with Borlotti Beans and Anchovies in Olive Dressing. Both are unusual yet surprisingly delicious offerings! I was particularly hesitant about the latter (mostly due to the anchovies) but the whole thing go really well together! So flavorful!
For the main course, the Cucina team, led by Executive Chef Alisdair Bletcher, are featuring a Slow-Roasted Leg of Lamb with Garlic and Rosemary Polenta with Gorgonzola Cheese at the carving station.
Here's how it looks like at the carving station. I suggest skipping the wedges and go for the polenta instead. It is divine, I'm telling you, especially with a bit of gorgonzola in each bite! ;)
Don't forget to try the Piccata of Pork Tenderloin with Asparagus and Shallots as well before finally hitting the dessert station!
Fine wines from Italy are also featured this month at Cucina and may be availed by the bottle or a glass. Pair the selection of either Frescobaldi’s Albizza, Chardonnay Toscana, or Pain di Remole Rosso with the delectable dishes showcased at the restaurant.
P.S. Skipping dessert is not an option!! Complete your Italian experience with famous desserts like Tiramisu, Vanilla Panna Cotta with Strawberry Compote, Chocolate Mousse with Amaretti Biscotti, and Banana and Mango Zabaglione.
