Siam Thai, Kapitolyo

The KTG at Siam Thai in Kapitolyo!

I seldom venture out to Kapitolyo, but when I do, it's usually to eat. Luckily, I'm part of a family known as The Kain Tulog Gang (KTG), a group comprised of people who share the same love for food as I do. And you know what they say, people who love to eat are always the best people. ;)

One Saturday, a bunch of us met up at Siam Thai for lunch. Since it was a holiday, there weren't much cars on the road so I arrived at the venue pretty early. I thought I'd go around and give myself a quick tour, so you guys have an idea on how it all looks like.

Being that Siam Thai is a sports bar, I would say it's perfect for hanging out and having a few drinks with friends. I can see it being especially busy at nights - a haven for those who work nearby, looking for somewhere to chill and just relax. Or you know, when a PBA game is on and you'd rather watch with fellow fans that by your lonesome at home.

But Siam Thai is not just a sports bar. It can also be a place for families (or pretty much anyone) can eat at, whether they be sports fans or not. I mean, I'm not much into sports and I still enjoyed dining here. It's because the restaurant offers a ton of amazing dishes that everyone can definitely enjoy. And at reasonable prices, too.

Just check out their Thai BBQ Set for Php 390.
Siam Thai
This comes with a platter of hand-picked fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables ready for grilling, with a light chicken soup simmering at the base of your grill.

This is actually the first time I've been to a restaurant that offers Mookata or Thai BBQ steamboat. It's a combination of Korean barbecue and Chinese hotpot dining, where you get to grill your food and enjoy your soup at the same time.
Siam Thai
If you're familiar with hotpot restaurants, the usual setup is that you cook everything with your soup (you pretty much boil everything), so they end up tasting the same. With Mookata, you get to eat your food in its grilled form, then just dip it in their Thai style sweet and spicy sauce, or Japanese sauce for a lighter taste.

As for the soup, the taste becomes richer the more you cook. Just imagine.. savory juices from the meats trickling down to the broth, enriching its flavor. Sounds yummy, right?

That's just the beginning. We also got to enjoy the following dishes:
