.. where the delightful flavors of Asia come alive!
For lunch one Saturday, I met up with some friends at Sasa Asian Cuisine at Estancia Mall.
It is where the delightful flavors of Asia come alive, as internationally-trained celebrity chef Raymar Reyes puts his extensive culinary experience to practice here. Each dish combines multiple Asian influences, so you get a modern take on this flavorful cuisine.
We started off with their soy chicken appetizer called Wrap Sa Chicken, which is served similarly to peking duck in Chinese restaurants.
We also got to try the Taiwanese Beef Noodles, Yasai Itame, and their Chicken Karaage Burger.
The Yasai Itame is Chef Raymar's version of the Japanese dish with a Filipino twist - sautéed vegetables and seafood generously layered between crunchy lumpia wrappers and drizzled with a special sauce.
The Chicken Karaage Burger consists of wasabi mayonnaise and fried garlic with tempura vegetables and fries on the side.
The Shitake Miso Pork Roll is one of their newest releases and it comes with your choice of apple miso, butter garlic miso, wasabi mayo, and vinegar/mustard based sauces.
The rolls are presented on a lechon type stand fronting the restaurant so you can see your food as it is prepared.
For dessert, they came out with Asian Merienda offerings which include the Pandan Pouch, palm sugar delicatelt wrapped in pandan-flavored crepe; Klepton, an Indonesian inspired dessert of palm sugar stuffed in rice ball and black sesame sauce; and Thai Halo-Halo.
