Spent the afternoon eating steak and cakes at Johnny's Steak and Grill at B Hotel, Quezon City
To be honest, I'm not as crazy about steaks as other people. For me, steaks are steaks. I don't really have a favorite cut or anything like that. The restaurant prepared eight different ones for the group, but I only got to try three of them (Rib-Eye, Tenderloin, and Porterhouse Steak) because they divided the steaks among three tables. In case you’re wondering though, the prices of the steaks range from Php660 (US Beef Rib Steak 280g) to Php4290 (CAB Upper Choice Rib Steak Tomhawk 850g).
For this post though, what I’d really like to focus on are the different sauces, sides, and desserts that Johnny's offers. For the sauces, they have four kinds: Peppercorn, Shallot and Red Wine, Mushroom and Garlic. Their Garlic sauce was my favorite because I thought it had the most flavor and I loved that it had garlic bits in it.
For the sides, we all enjoyed the steak rice. It is classic beef fried rice with onions, peas, and shaoxing wine. It kind of reminded me of Japanese kamameshi rice. The Mac and Cheese was great as well. It was a mix of both cheddar and parmesan cheese in creamy macaroni, so I loved that too.
For dessert, I highly recommend the Belgian Chocolate Mini Cake and the Truffle Chocolate Mini Cake. They’re both sinful but not overly sweet. A few bites are enough to satisfy so make sure to have someone to share these with.
I've already recommended Johnny's Steak and Grill to a couple of my friends, so if you're looking for a good, more affordable steak place in Tomas Morato, you know where to go.
