Just to give you a bit of a background, The Great Eatscape is a food crawl series by SM Aura in partnership with ForkSpoonManila. The word “eatscape" comes from the word eat which means to consume food, and scape which is a view or a picture of a scene. Combined, it’s basically a food scene where you can experience or rediscover the many different and unique dining options that can be found at SM Aura Premier.
We started part two of our crawl with the newest innovative concept restaurant brought by the Raintree Restaurants Group - Providore.
Inspired by the Retro Counters, Delis, and Luncheonettes of yesteryear, Providore provides everybody with a classic throwback to when the tomatoes were fresh off the farm, the milk came from the milkman, and your neighbourhood restaurant welcomed you with a big genuine smile.
Their menu is all about the old time favourites.
"Food is exactly the way you want it." Here, you'll see familiar dishes with familiar flavors. For example, their chicken and pork skewers taste like those barbecue we love buying on our way home from school. Their Tokwa and Baboy is a classic too.
Aside from that, they also offer great breakfast items - from fluffy pancakes to omelettes. It's basically the type of comfort food we grew up to and surely love.
Providore has everything one could ask for in a restaurant - a coffee bar, a bistro, essential kitchen provisions and a retail area with local artisanal items.
"It is a fresh go-to restaurant that offers not just authentic American and home-style Filipino cuisine - but a full experience that will take you back to the good ol’ days."
