I've only been to Friuli once years back and to be honest, I no longer remember if I liked the food or not. So when their branch at UP Town Center opened, I thought it'd be nice to bring Tim and try the food together!

What we ordered:
Toasted Ravioli (P145)
crisp, deep fried ravioli filled with beef, cheese and veggies sprinked with Parmesan cheese and served with special tomato sauce

I was honestly surprised to see ravioli on the menu. But it turned out to be more like fried dumplings. It wasn't bad. I like that they served it with tomato sauce.

Garlic and Cheese (P200)
two layers of mixed cheeses and garlic

This would've been a great dish if it had more garlic in it. It felt more like regular cheese pizza, but it was okay.
Spaghetti con Nuts and Basil Sauce (P160)
classic pesto sauce of basil, Parmesan, nuts and olive oil, served with spaghetti

Not the best, though I did like it better than second pasta dish we ordered.

Penne con Smoked Sausage (P165)
a truly flavorful pasta with smoked sausage, Parmesan, and selected fresh vegetables cooked in a rich sauce

Tim liked this though. Probably because of the sausages? I dunno. I thought it was really, really normal. It's okay for the price, I guess.
Overall, I guess the food was just okay. It wasn't anything special, so I don't think I'd eat here again, especially since there are lots of new choices available at UPTC. Though I do think their prices are more affordable compared to other restaurants in the mall, so if you're on a budget, this might be a good place to dine.

Friuli Trattoria is located at Second Floor, UP Town Center, Katipunan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.
