For Valentines, Tim and I spent the entire day together. No, we didn't do anything "special" or have a fancy dinner. The fact that we got to spend a whole day just the two of us was celebration enough (we both have work on Saturdays and Sundays are often reserved for the family). We just winged it, made no plans whatsoever. The only thing we did plan was the time he was picking me up (which was 8am) and that was it. We drove around to look for a good breakfast joint and ended up at Single Origin.
Surprise, surprise, the place was full at 9am that we had to sit outside!
He ordered his usual brewed coffee (how boring haha!) while I got the Flat White.
Flat White (P150)
espresso with more velvety textured milk
I'm not very particular when it comes to coffee. As long as it's not black, I'm good. Three-in-one mixes are fine, too, to be honest. On occasions, I do indulge in pricier cups, for the ambiance, and I also think it's nice to be around people who enjoy the same thing you do sometimes, right?
Breakfast Sliders (P375)
chorizo and scrambled egg, bacon and egg, forest ham and sauteed mushrooms with garlic aoili
I got the slider because I couldn't decide on one particular dish. Sometimes I tend to overthink which of two or three dishes I want that I end up ordering something else altogether. Weird noh?
The sliders were okay. They weren't awesome, but they were okay. My favorite of the three is the sauteed mushrooms. The rest tasted pretty normal. I liked the side salad though.
Classic Corned Beef and Eggs (P395)
homemade corned beef and creamy scrambled eggs served with toasted white bread
At first, I was teasing Tim because his order wasn't anything different. I thought it'd be ordinary corned beef, but gaah, it was delicious! I ended up being jealous of his order. Buti nalang he always shares. Hihi. :">
