It's been so long since I last stepped foot in Megamall, so when Tim and I finally went there a few weeks ago, we made sure to eat somewhere we haven't before - enter Osaka Ohsho.
After dropping by Churreria La Lola and finally trying their churros, we decided we were hungry for real food. Haha! We walked around SM Megamall's Fashion Hall to pick the best place to eat but most restaurants were already full and we didn't want to wait for a table to free up.
Even though I love gyoza, I didn't particularly want to eat at Osaka Ohsho at first, since I've always believed that all gyoza taste the same. It doesn't matter where you eat it; once you've tried one, you've tried them all. What it really boils down to is the sauce used. And I guess after this visit, I still believe that.
But don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I regret eating at Osaka Ohsho, in fact, the food was really good.
Tim had the Beef Saikoro Teppan Set (P600).
This beef saikoro is the bomb. It's like a Japanese version of beef salpicao. It's so flavorful and tender!
I went with what's probably their simplest meal - the Gyoza Koshihikari Set (P270).
Yes, I was able to finish all of it. I might have had a seventh piece thanks to Tim... Haha!
The Osaka Ohsho gyoza is best enjoyed when dipped into any of these three sauces: Osaka Ohsho Original, Miso, and Chili Oil. What Tim did was to combine the original and the chili oil, while I combined all three!
I guess I'll always love pan-fried gyoza. I love it so much I could probably make babies with it! HAHAHA just kidding! But seriously, gyoza is one of my favorite Japanese dishes. I've actually made this at home before and it's really good, especially with a soy sauce and rice vinegar dip.
Find Osaka Ohsho at the 3rd floor of SM Megamall's Fashion Hall.
