Z Compound: The Backyard Reservoir

The Backyard Reservoir
I’ve been wanting to try the stalls at Z Compound, but haven’t had the chance until last week. Aldous invited me to another bloggers' dinner and thanks to him, I was able to eat to my heart’s content at The Backyard Reservoir.

The owners, Tertius and Mic, served us the most filling meal! The food just kept coming until we couldn’t eat anymore! I am not kidding! There were nine of us and we weren't able to finish everything!

They started us off with the Curly Fries (P65). I'm so happy to have found a place that offers this aside from McDonald's! :P

Mozza Sticks (P125) - because everyone likes tomato dip and cheese! :)

Next, we got to try their gourmet sandwich offerings. I thought they just added the word "gourmet" to sound fancy. I didn't expect there to be anything special about the sandwiches, but I'm so glad I was wrong. Aside from being visually appealing, they're actually really, really good!! :)

My favorites would have to be the Pastrami and Ham, Egg, and Cheese. :) Although I did end up stealing some bacon off of the BLT. Haha

But out of their entire menu, their pizzas rank the highest in my book! If I remember correctly, they have seven kinds; we got to try two - the Three Cheese Pesto (P190) and El Pago (P230).

Because their pizzas have thin crusts, it's quite possible for me one person to finish an entire pizza on my their own. I actually like these pizzas more than I like Shakey's (well, except for their Pizza Bianca, which is my absolute favorite!)

Their pastas are okay, definitely not at par with their sandwiches and pizzas.. but if you're loading up on carbs, this is for you.

If you're wondering if I'll visit them again, the answer is YES! :) I actually already invited Mike to go there with me soon.
The Backyard Reservoir
Albeit small, the place is actually very welcoming. The menu is simple and affordable, great for students on a budget and those living in the area in search of a quick food fix.The Backyard Reservoir
The Backyard Reservoir is the perfect hang out place, too. I love the chill, laid back, beach-y vibe, and guess what, they even offer wine! It's definitely one of the must-try places at the Z Compound.
