High school student Nick O'Leary, member of the Queercore band The Jerk Offs, meets college-bound Norah Silverberg when she asks him to be her boyfriend for five minutes. (IMDb)

A book-turned-movie by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan - but apparently, in the book, it's actually Nick who asks Norah to pretend to be his girlfriend and not the other way around (I looked it up at Fully Booked the other day. Heh.)
Anyway, the story revolves around a long night where a group of teenagers go around New York to look for a lost friend and a band who's supposed to be playing in some club. When I saw the poster for this movie, I was surprised that Kat Dennings plays Norah, since I only know her from 2 Broke Girls as Max. And the funny thing is, her best friend's name here is Caroline, too. To be honest though, I'm not used to seeing Max being all lovey dovey and pacute - and take note, they play high school students here ha. I felt that maybe she wasn't the best actress for the role.. but what do I know, right? Haha. However, I do think Michael Cera was the perfect actor to play Nick - heartbroken and lost over some girl.
I think Nick's bandmates made the movie more fun to watch. Not sure if I'll be reading the book any time soon though, I just can't see myself enjoying it without the energetic gay guys and the music, of course. P.S. I hate you, Tris.
