The Frazzled Cook

Frazzled Cook
Finally got to try this place thanks to a spontaneous night out with the family!

It was almost 9pm when we decided to have dinner at The Frazzled Cook. As expected, the place would be packed (it was a Sunday), so even though it was already past dinner time when we arrived, we still had to wait to get a table.
Frazzled Cook
They have such instagrammable interiors and great lighting - my sister couldn't contain her excitement - after all, we've both been wanting to eat here for a while now.

They have private rooms, small but cozy, perfect for intimate groups :)

They also have the cutest salt and pepper shakers!! These alone are enough reasons to dine here lol :P

The Frazzled Cook used to be located in Mandaluyong, but this year, they've reopened at Scout Gandia Street near Tomas Morato. They recently had their grand opening and it seems like they've been busier than ever.

Cheeselogs (P125)
breaded cheese sticks comes with fresh tomato salsa on the side
Frazzled Cook
We're a family who loves our cheeses and tomatoes of all sorts so this was a great dish to start the meal with.

Onion Rings (P145)
battered and fried onion rings served with dip
Frazzled Cook
The dip was the highlight (because honestly, onion rings do not have flavor anyways haha!) We even crossed dipped the cheeselogs because it was that good, also because my sister wanted the salsa all to herself

Fish and Fries (P245)
breaded fish fillet and fries served with aioli dip
Frazzled Cook
This was a little bland for me, or maybe I'm just used to eating salty dishes? I dunno.

Tenderloin and Sausage Pizza (P380)
herbed crusted thin pizza dough topped with beef tenderloin salpicao, bell pepper, onions, and kesong puti
Frazzled Cook
The family favorite! Thin crust pizza, tender beef chunks, and lots of cheese! :)
Frazzled Cook
Paella Negra (P375 / P635)
squid-inked rice topped with squid, shrimp, sausage, and bell pepper
Frazzled Cook
We were really disappointed with this one because the rice itself didn't have much flavor. And it was literally just topped with few pieces of shrimp, squid, etc - everything below that was just rice. Well, the description did say "topped with" .. maybe we should've gone with their Seafood Paella instead.

Fried Pork Chop (P325)
herb breaded pork chop with home made gravy sauce
Frazzled Cook
The weirdest mashed potato I've tried to date. The pork chop was just okay.

Spicy Gambas al Ajillo (P285)
sautéed garlic and shrimp with our own gambas spices
Frazzled Cook
We were surprised it came with rice, and since it did, the dish ended up containing even less shrimps than we expected. Gambas is supposed to be oily and spicy and garlicky, and this just wasn't.
Frazzled Cook
Maybe it was just an off night? Will consider giving this another go in the future. With that, do let me know your favorites! I would love to try them next time!

The Frazzled Cook is located at 78 Scout Gandia Street, Laging Handa, Quezon City.
