Quarantine Update: Home Workouts

And why I don't regret letting go of my gym membership. :)

A week after the ECQ started here in Manila, I began working out. I figured, I'm at home all day so there's really no excuse not to anymore. I never really liked doing any type of workout, except maybe that one time when I purchased a 30-day voucher to Elorde. It was a lot of fun, though I didn't really take it seriously. The trainer kept making me laugh so I think I got more tired from laughing than the actual boxing. :P
Two years ago, I got a discounted membership at a newly opened gym, but decided to let go of it a few months after since it really wasn't my thing. There were only a few classes I liked that were available after work, and so I'd usually just end up brisk-walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes, then wait until Tim finishes his sets with his personal trainer.

Recently though, I've found a number of workout videos on YouTube that are low impact and really fun. I didn't want to do anything super intense and get discouraged when I'm unable to follow what they're doing. My only goal was to be able to exercise regularly and actually enjoy it. Honestly, it didn't matter if I lose weight or not, but it'd be nice to not gain any more. HAHA.

Anyway, here are some of the ones I highly recommend. These are great for those starting out or those who want to incorporate some dancing into their workout routine. Will also include some short ones, so you don't have to allot two hours of your day just working out.

44-Minute Diet Dance by Sunny Funny Fitness

This is honestly one of my favorite workouts to do. I've pretty much memorized the steps already since I've been working out five times a week. Haha. It's really fun and pretty easy to follow since there's a lot of repetitions within one song. But I think they use a total of 10 or 11 songs in this video. Be prepared to do a lot of squats in this one (well, about 4-5 minutes worth).

30-Minute Cardio-Dance modelFIT Workout with POPSUGAR Fitness

Told ya I liked dancing videos. I'm no dancer, but I enjoy this a lot more than HIIT or any of Chloe Ting's workouts. No hate, it's just what works for me, I guess. I've also done this one a few times. If you want to just focus on your arms, they have a trimmed version of the video (total of 4 minutes). Linked below :)

4-Minute No Weight, Arm Toning Workout with POPSUGAR Fitness

5-Minute Standing Flat-Belly Workout with POPSUGAR Fitness

I used to do this regularly but I stopped since the 44-Minute Diet Dance video from Sunny Funny Fitness already includes abs. You can do this one and the arm one to start. If talagang tamad kayo, 10 minutes a day should be manageable?

30-Minute No-Equipment Cardio Kickboxing Workout with POPSUGAR Fitness

Another favorite. When I'm not following Sunny Funny Fitness, this is what I do instead. I like the whole kicking and punching. If you want something more intense and if you want your legs and butt to hurt the following day, I'd recommend this one. :P

Burn 600 Calories in a 60-Minute Workout with POPSUGAR Fitness

As an extra bonus, you have this one. I tried this once and couldn't finish it. Haha. I tapped out, sorry. Try niyo nalang and let me know what you think :P
