New York's iconic Magnolia Bakery opens as M Bakery in Manila this August!
Magnolia Bakery, one of most widely recognized bakeries in the world, is now in Manila! I was one of the lucky few who were invited to the preview before the official opening on August 22, 2018, at 2 pm.
Magnolia Bakery opened its first location on a cozy street corner in the heart of New York’s West Village (401 Bleecker Street) in the summer of 1996. From its inception, Magnolia Bakery has been cherished for its classic American baked goods, vintage decor and warm, inviting atmosphere.
In 2007, Magnolia Bakery’s original owner passed her oven mitts to Steve and Tyra Abrams. Together, the Abrams’ have thoughtfully expanded the bakery from its first West Village shop to locations worldwide. Today, Magnolia Bakery can be found in New York City, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles in the United States and Seoul, Mexico City, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Riyadh, Amman and Doha internationally.

Sex and the City fans will know of Magnolia Bakery and may have even visited their store in New York, where the actual scene was shot. Personally, I haven't watched the series, though I did catch Magnolia Bakery in a movie called Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List just recently.
Meet the Carrie cupcake - a rich, buttery old-fashioned vanilla cupcake with pink vanilla buttercream topped with a daisy sugar decoration. It is Magnolia Bakery's edible ode to their original Bleecker Street location and of course, to Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw.
Their Red Velvet Cupcakes shouldn't be missed as well. Made red with cocoa, vanilla and a little southern mystery, with its own special whipped vanilla icing. They will also have Red Velvet Cheesecake in store!

Make sure to sink your teeth into some Banana Pudding as well! Made with layers of vanilla wafers, fresh bananas and creamy vanilla pudding, this is absolutely the fan favorite. Banana Pudding at M Bakery comes in a chocolate version too, where layers of OREO® wafers, creamy chocolate pudding and chocolate shavings replace the vanilla wafers and pudding.
