Mongelica Pares & Mami Hub

Up for a quick pares run?

Whenever I go to City Golf, I always pass by the restaurant in the middle of the parking lot, but I've never bothered to give it a second look. Let's face it, we've all done this before; but you know what, places like this can surprise us. No, you won't find fancy, elaborate dishes here, but sometimes, simple and straightforward works.
Just recently, my friends and I had lunch at Mongelica Pares and Mami Hub before heading to Tagaytay for our road trip. And since we all know Tagaytay means cuddle weather, most of us were wearing sweaters and long sleeves. Lucky for us, the weather cooperated and we didn't feel much heat despite dining al fresco in the middle of the day at Ortigas.
For the food, I didn't expect to find such a long list of items to choose from. We started off with one of their lunch specials, the Beef Pares, which comes with garlic rice, a bowl of soup, and iced tea for only Php 140.

They also have numerous appetizers to choose from, like the Chicharon Bulaklak (P170), Tokwa't Baboy (P140), Classic Sisig (P190), and Lumpia Togue (P30).

Grilled items can also be found on the menu - Pork/Chicken Isaw (P60/3pcs), Chicken Gizzard (P35), and my favorite, Pork BBQ (P45)!

If spicy's your thing, go for the Spicy Pares Fried Rice with Egg and Tomatoes (P150); it also comes with soup and iced tea. I would suggest eating it with a stick of barbecue or two. Sarap!

The Beef Pares Mami (P130) was one of my favorites that day. That warm beef broth really hits the spot!
For more meaty goodness, try the Pork Belly Adobo (P190).

They also have Beef Bulalo (P250) and Pancit Canton (P95) that's good to share, so bring your friends and family and enjoy good food at an affordable price. I bet you even can eat here every day for a week without repeating a single order! It's perfect for those on a budget, since we all know that it's very rare to find dishes under Php 200 at places like City Golf. Agree?

And for the ultimate budget meal goals, there's always siomai. Have it with pares fried rice, a bowl of soup, and iced tea for only Php 70! ;) #ThatSiomaiLife

I told myself I wouldn't eat much since I didn't want to deal with an upset stomach on our long drive, but I couldn't help it. I especially love the lumpiang togue, the pares, and barbecue!

We ended the meal with some Mais Con Hielo for Php 70.

Mongelica Pares and Mami Hub is definitely worth the second look (and visit)!

Check them out at City Golf Plaza, Julia Vargas Avenue, Ugong, Pasig City.
