Celebrate National Pancake Day at IHOP!

Celebrate National Pancake Day at IHOP this March 7, 2017, and enjoy unlimited buttermilk pancakes for only P250! For every guest who avail of the promo, P200 will be donated to the Kythe Foundation to help support their mission of battling pediatric cancer in the Philippines!

Back during my freshman year in college, I was determined to join an organization that gives back. Ateneo Kythe was one of my top choices since they work with kids with cancer, and the thought of being able to make these kids happy, even for just a few hours a week, was something I really wanted to do. Unfortunately, back then, they didn't accept freshies (I'm not completely sure why, my guess is that we may have a hard time handling our emotions in front of the children), so I ended up joining the Ateneo Special Education Society instead.

Fast forward to today, Kythe Foundation continues to promote hope and healing by manifesting love through simple sharing and togetherness. It is also the only provider of the Child Life Program in the Philippines that delivers pyschosocial care in hospitals to indigent children with cancer and other chronic illnesses.

From 7am to 10pm on March 7, 2017, all IHOP locations will be offering guests the opportuniy to participate in the event and enjoy unlimited servings of their world-famous buttermilk pancakes for only P250. P200 out of the P250 generated from those pancakes will once again be donated to the Kythe Foundation, which provides children with cancer and chronic illnesses the chance to learn, play, and grow while in treatment, even if they're in the hospital. It has been over a decade since National Pancake Day began in the United States, and since then, has raised twenty million dollars for children's health charities in the local communities.
IHOP
"Last year, IHOP Philippines, with the public's generous and kind hearted support, was able to raise nearly P400,000 for the Kythe Foundation Charity through our National Pancake Day initiative. This year, we are once again elated to take part in IHOP's arguable most popular and clearly most impactful tradition," said Archie Rodriguez, CEO of Global Restaurants Concepts, Inc., IHOP's restaurant franchisee in the Philippines. "With every single IHOP restaurant in the Philippines participating in our third National Pancake Day, we are hoping to raise a total of P500,000 this year for the Kythe Foundation to aid, in our small way, in improving the quality of life and alleviating the condition of our children battling pediatric cancer."

What is included in the P250? It includes unlimited buttermilk pancakes with a choice of IHOP's signsture syrups and whipped butter. It doesn't include drinks and other pancake flavors nor other dishes, but you're always free to order whatever else you want from the menu at regular price.
What I recommend: Sausage, Spinach and Poached Egg Fettuccine or the Shredded Beef Tapa with Egg. And of course, the Never Empty Coffee Pot (unlimited coffee for only P95!)

All IHOP Philippines branches will be on a first come, first serve basis for the All you Can Eat Pancakes event on March 7, but they are also available for takeout, in case you want to help but don't have time to stay for the event. Should you wish to take out your order, you'll get a stack of four Buttermilk Pancakes with whipped butter and syrup for P250.

You're always welcome to donate directly to the Kythe Foundation, just ask for their brochures from the servers or you may also refer to the posters for their bank account details.
This will be the 3rd Annual National Pancake Day for IHOP Philippines, and incidentally, the Kythe Foundation is also celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. Over 11,000 children diagnosed with cancer and other chronic illnesses have benefited from the Kythe Child Life Program, and through events like this, they'll be able to help many more.
