The newest steak place along Banawe Avenue!
I recently got to try the offerings of Sear Steak Scullery along Banawe Avenue. I'm glad that more and more restaurants offering cuisines other than Chinese are opening up around the area. It's crazy how many Chinese restaurants are available to the Chinese community there. I mean, I love Chinese food, but it'd be nice to have other options too, you know?
We tried their bestsellers - everything from the salads, pasta, steaks, sausages, oysters, and milkshakes. It was really a crazy filling afternoon but I'm not complaining. For me, the highlights were the milkshakes and the steaks, and rightfully so. They are a steak restaurant after all. But I kinda wish they focused more on that. They have a really wide menu, so customers might get overwhelmed and find it difficult deciding which dishes to order. The sausages were pretty great too since they were packed with so much flavor. The steaks were really fancy, especially the Hida Wagyu which had that melts-in-your-mouth texture to it.
Their milkshakes obviously took time to prepare, which I'm both happy and sad about. Happy because you really get your money's worth - the shakes are really thick and rich in flavor. Sad because it's not their main offering. I mean, I'd get it if Sear were a milkshake/dessert cafe or something, but it's a steak place, so most people will probably overlook these beautiful babies. Anyway, there's still a lot to be improved, I'd like it better if they trimmed the menu down a bit, but overall, it's a good restaurant to try when you're in the area.
(Good news: Sear management contacted me to let me know that they'll be doing some changes on their menu, so that's something to look forward to!)
