Enjoy Sunday brunch with Rustic Mornings at Flavors Restaurant, Holiday Inn & Suites Makati!
I've been to Holiday Inn & Suites Makati a couple of times before. Last year's fourth of July was made awesome with their American Food Fest; it was also the same year that Chef Dennis of Den Lim's Kitchen in Pampanga collaborated with Flavors Restaurant to bring his food to Manila. In March 2018, I finally got to try their poke bowls which they've made available at Citron, their lobby bar.
This time, they're collaborating with Rustic Mornings and to be honest, it's my favorite collaboration yet!
Rustic Mornings is Marikina’s hidden gem, which was started by advertising exec turned chef/restaurateur Portia Baluyut in 2009 as Isabelo Garden Restaurant, a by- reservation only restaurant which served only pre-ordered dishes. With no formal culinary training, but a lifelong love for food and the creative process, Portia evolved her restaurant into Rustic Mornings in 2012. Serving hearty and delicious all-day breakfast in the heart of Marikina, Rustic Morning has been named as the top breakfast place in the metro in 2013, 2014 & 2015 by Looloo.
My last visit to Rustic Mornings was years ago and I really loved the vibe there. I also enjoyed the food that they serve - most especially their Churros Waffles. It was one of the dishes that I hoped would be available at Flavors Restaurant this month, and lucky for me, it was!
Super happy with the fresh fruit selection! I had tons of kiwi and strawberries with my pancakes that afternoon!
Another brunch highlight is the Pinoy Burrito made of Parslied Garlic Rice with Tinapa Flakes wrapped in a Lumpia wrapper, then deep fried with a cream sauce. Brunch guests can also look forward to French Toast Bake with Berry Cream; the Hashbrowns, Sausages and Bacon bar; Curry Kofta Balls; and Smoothie Bowls: Acai Bowl and Apple Smoothie Oat.

Though this one's a bit different since it's from Chef Portia’s newest baby Waffable. Waffable has its own station in the brunch buffet, showcasing her award-winning Classic Waffable; the bestselling Churro Waffable with Bananas, Butter Cream and Yema Fudge; the Brownie Brittle – Brownie Waffle, Butter Cream and Yema fudge; and Blueberry Burst – Classic Waffle, Butter Cream and Blueberry Compote and Monkey Butter.
I love how we're able to design our own waffles at Flavors Restaurant! So if you're looking to do the same, I suggest visiting them any Sunday this May!
