Five Activities to Try North of Manila

Wakeboarding, target shooting, and more!

I initially curated this list as a Labor Day weekend article for Taste.Company, but there's no reason we can't use it for any other weekend (or day, for that matter). With that, here are five things you can do in Subic and Pampanga, so you can turn your trip up north into an adventurous one!

1. Wakeboarding at Pradera Wake Park

With three practice lakes for beginners and a big lake for advanced riders, Pradera Wake Park is one of the places you just have to visit this summer! Pradera Verde was also the location for the recently held Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival, so expect more cool happenings at Luzon’s newest wake park!

Wake Park Rates:
1 Hour - P250
2 Hours - P475
4 Hours - P595
8 Hours - P1000

Note: Rate is inclusive of vest, helmet and slip-on board

Location: Lubao, Pampanga

2. Go shooting at Mountain Clark Firing Range

Learn how to fire a pistol and a rifle the safe way. The training and lessons are conducted by PNP Accredited Instructors, so you know you’re in good hands. I got to try this sometime last year and it was honestly a scary but fun experience – and yes, I’d totally do it again! Read my article on Mountain Clark Shooting Range here.

Gun Rentals:
Pistols: P500-P1,000
Revolver: P500
Rifle: P1,000

Location: Angeles City, Pampanga

3. Experience a one-of-a-kind rollercoaster zip line at SandBox Alviera

SandBox is a 1,125 hectare property that redefines outdoor fun and adventure! Their main attraction? Avatar One, the Philippines’ first roller coaster zip line which zigzags along its 180-meter course! Aside from that, SandBox also features the country’s tallest swing (Giant Swing), a high rope adventure course (Aerial Walk Challenge), wall climbing, free fall and rappelling (Adventure Tower), ATV and UTV rides, and Outdoor Archery. There’s definitely something here for everyone!

Sandbox Entrance Fee P100
Giant Swing P150
Aerial Walk P250
Adventure Tower P100- P150
Roller Coaster Zip line P150
Outdoor Archery P150-P300
*They also have package rates available on their website

Location: Porac, Pampanga

4. Train in the ways of the ninja at Ninja's Nest (now Hit Point PH)

Join their courses on modified Parkour, shuriken-jutsu (throwing star), kenjutsu (sword art), and taijutsu (unarmed self-defense) and become a real ninja warrior in no time! Trainings are for kids as young as 4 years old and adults up to 70 years old. Read my article on Ninja's Nest here.

Rates:
P2,500 per month for 3-hour sessions every Saturday

5. Take beach play to a whole new level at Inflatable Island

Inflatable Island opened just last April 1, 2017, and it is the biggest floating playground in Asia! At 3,400 sqm, it is as big as eight basketball courts put together side by side. It has a Sunbathe Lounge, Wobbly Bridge, Giant Tarzan Swing and Slide, Monkey Vines, Trampoline, Human Launcher, and more! Enjoy hours of fun for as low as P699!

Rates:
Splash (two-hour pass): P699
Spray (half day pass): P999
Soaked (whole day pass): P1,399

Location: Subic Bay waters, National Highway, Olongapo City

I hope this guide can help you decide on where to go the next long weekend for that ultimate bonding experience!
