Of Passions and Photography

It's no secret that I love taking photos. I think it's pretty evident on this blog that I do. Heck, I started blogging because of photography. If you'll notice, all of my posts have photos.

I don't know, I just like documenting everything - from the food I eat to the places I visit. I always, always have a camera with me, and it's not just enough for me to have my phone. I need to either have a digicam or dSLR at all times. It started back in 2008 when I took photos of my 4-year old cousin out of boredom - so as a game, I had her model for me. Soon, I was asking my dad for a camera. And since my birthday was coming up, he agreed. I was so, so happy! It was seriously the best gift ever. Up until now, I still use it. Sure, it's already old, and I've actually bought a replacement already, but I still can't seem to part with my Rebel XTi.
Forgive me if I'm rambling. I'm still not exactly sure what my goal is for posting this. I got home from work early one day last week and saw how beautifully the sun was shining on my photo wall, so I decided to take a photo of it to post on Instagram. And now, I'm sharing it here. That wall contains photos from my most memorable trips; it is the first thing I see when I wake up, and the last before going to bed. My goal is to fill up the entire wall someday.

I haven't traveled in a while because of work, but I'm hoping to do so soon. Work to live, not live to work, they said. I forget this sometimes; I'm sure we all do. We really have to be conscious of how we spend our days or else it'll just pass us by, like I mentioned in my thanksgiving post. Sure, we have to learn how to appreciate what we have, but at the same time, we also have to make an effort to get what we want. I'm not just pertaining to traveling or photography - wherever your passions may lie, this also applies to you. Things are not just going to fall on our laps. We have to work for what we want in life, but at the same time, we should also remember to give thanks and appreciate what we already have. There has to be a balance, I guess? I don't know. I'm still trying to figure it all out. Maybe someday I will, but for now, let this post be a reminder to myself, to pursue my dreams and my passions. I better stop here before I start rambling about an entirely new topic. Haha. Next time na lang ulit.
